Lint and Paddles :/

General Questions

I'm having problems with lint and paddles. I don't mind that most of my dreads have kinks and bends after 20 months of natural dreading (though i would love for them to relax a bit) but the paddles really bother me, would it be bad to chop them off? There is so much lint in my hair as well mainly where the paddles are. I'm not sure where iv got wrong. Does anyone have any advice for me or similar experiences :)

13 months into natural dreading...

General Questions

Hey guys,

I was wondering if the couple of 'dreads' you can see are normal? I have about 5 of these mat things mainly at the back of my head and was wondering if they will eventually sort themselves out?

Flat matted looking baby dread

Dread Maintenance

At the back of my head on the top i have a very flat matted looking baby dread which im worried about. The rest are coming along nicely or slowly and taking the expected shape but this one i fear it may fall out or something it doesnt feel very strong at the root. Also im not sure if its possibly bunched up but its half the length of all the other ones. I keep getting people telling me stories of dreads falling out to scare me out of the dread process and normally i ignore it but i fear for this one dreads life :) any similar experiences or advice will be appreciated xx

General Questions

Hey Jessie, from the picture you have up i think u wud look ace with dreads. My sister keeps telling me t have second thoughts bout dreads (im a week in) even though she thinks they will/wud suit me. Who cares what others say if they are friends/family ther still going t love you so do the hell what you like. As for male attention its prob just as well, once you have dread confidence you'll make friends with the right kinda minded ppl! Plus you have a boyfriend so stop putting yourself down :) Newbie dreads all the way. Ps. Come join UK group!!

They look good. I've started natural way but looking at ur's from twist and rip i might be tempted to go that route too! Did you get someone to do it for you?
