hair is matting will this turn to dreads

General Talk

You'll have to separate that, it is too wide and will turn into a beaver tail. Generally hair will separate into sections on it's own after a few weeks of washing and no comb. You then need to keep those sections from connecting to others nearby. with certain hair types (like mine) you need to be vigilant about this after every wash. God Bless']

Hair Separation...

crochet and dread tools recovery

just wrap it where it's separating, that way you aren't compromising with the hook

Birthday issues

General Talk

I found the older I get the less significance birthdays have for me. I'm glad I got another year to live and bless people, but I don't really care about the actual day any more']

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

You need to get in there and separate them as gently as possible. Just gently pull out the errant hairs from each section it doesn't belong in. SOmetimes you need to do teh hairs one by one and it can be tedious, but necessary. I know if you search on here there are videos showing how to do this. It's best done wet I believe, but I do it whenever I find them'] God Bless your journey'] Nancy

Help! Save My Dreads

It looks like regular hair in the dreading process now instead of tight, manipulated hair. I'd just leave it and keep it clean, washing every few days and separating when needed. Crochet really gets in the way of hair dreading, the top wants to dread but the ends are stuck where they were put. Just let it be and relax'] God Bless your journey

Dying Roots?

Dread Maintenance

Dye is fine, just not the avocado oil ones and the extra conditioning ones. I used to dye all the time. Squeeze it through your dreads thoroughly. My fave is John freida foam. Just don't use the conditioner after, it'll be fine, oh and BS solution takes the colour out quicker than teh dreadlocks shampoo']
