well thats very geberalized

only a small percentage feel thtat way that they own the style

and yea many do go to salins because they are unaware that they can dread other ways (in some cases) others fear the stign=ma of poverty and appearing low class thats why someone who might be poor living in the gheto even collectings cans to buy food might wear gucci to at least appear like they got money and class wich is really the fault of the more european population who holds that perception..the assumptionm that the average black mans poor gheto crack addicted whatever ..so even when they are closer to the sterotype they strive to not appear it at the same time

so realy the only ones who do tend to stricktly preffer the natural dreads are religiosly bound to

and because they..the rastas are asociated with marijuana etc others who dread dont want that negative association eveb=n if they smoke and support legalization

its understandable cause so many african americans are sitting in jails for minor cromes the average white man might get a fine for

so the fear of judgement is umderstandable after all they do have it harder still no matter how much you and i might treat everyone as equals socirty still isnt fair and ballanced just look what happened when a black man was elected.. the gop went crazy and doid all they could to make it seem like a black man cant do anytjing right and held our economy abd country hostage to prove that point

anywho im rambling

the salon thinkg is partialy misinformation and social conditioning

the other thing is racism and is just a small percentatige

racism depends i]on misinformation as well

and some ppl are just ignorant

Introduce Yourself

You missed my point. My hair was half dreaded on one side of my head and dreads on the other side. My hair looked a mess, big mess and I could not continue to walk around and look like a clown. If I had a setback, fine. I will deal with it. It is no big deal.

At the very least, could you not use the product yourself and save yourself going to a salon? Seems like a waste of money and time to do something you could do yourself. I don't blame you though, I was still a bit impatient back then myself, but now they're on their way to maturity. I'd say a couple of them actually are mature. Anyway, I really hope the thing they use on your hair is truly OK :)

Rebecca

I know what a discussion is. I also know that people can discuss matters without being hurtful. It is all fine, I will still do what I want to do.

No one was trying to attack you. Just help. That's what the point of a discussion is.

Introduce Yourself

Sounds like some of you are too judgemental for your own good. First of all, my texture is different from all of you. If I am brainwashed, it ismy business. If I am wasting my money, it is my money. If a person needs help with dreadding, why bash them?

I refuse to walk around and look like hell to please any of you.I will do what I want to do.

Introduce Yourself

My hair is washed and the product goes out with the shampoo. Each to his or her own, but I needed assistance with my hair. When it locks up, I may refrain from going to the stylistic, we will see.

Introduce Yourself

My hair is soft and it takes a long time to lock. I have four different textures of hair and this is also a main reason. My hair is twisted and it is forming into locks. The stylistic uses a wax free, gel free all natural pomade for my hair. I could not form the locks on my own and I didn't have anyone to help me. Its working!
