So it has been a while now since my cutt of my dreadlocks

General Talk

yeah man i agree you 100 percent! id love to see them grow again. but i really do need to wait after im done with soo many things. and yeah i still have the dreads Vinny said:
well at least you did it for good reasons, at least that's what you've said.

Look at the bright side, having a second set is like having a second chance. After already having dreads for so long you'll know what to expect and you'll enjoy the process ten times more than you did before. Wont have to hassle with any doubt or newbie mistakes and possibly be able to plan them out a bit better (unless of course you thought they were perfect before, and in my opinion they were brutal as f*ck). Did you save your old dreads? it wouldn't be the first time someone reattached old dreads to new dreads.

Math?? *confused* That's why I had children to figure out all that fancy schooling for me :) just kidding.

I think it's best to wait until after HS as well. You still have a lot of adventures finding your true self. You'll have more discipline about them later on too. Even if you neglect you will be spending lots of time in them after they start locking up for real. You still have to separate, wash, and de-fuzz (when you go through and pick out all the extra shizz that has attached itself to them.

Good Luck

Nature and dreadlocks

General Talk

I do look at it back then there were no methods for dreadlocks..it was just dont comb and you will get them..i wish i lived that time. Now there a bunch of bullshiters like dreadheadhq and knottyboy saying you gotta do dreadlocks this waysuch bullshit Iain said:
I agree on that as well, I am mad there was a ton of bad information out there when I first looked into this, I wish there was a SE equivalent in my town I coulda just asked,

more so since my hair was allready tight curls that locked up daily if I didn't brush them, I guess that shoulda been a D'uh moment since I didn't realize If i just separated those they woulda formed locks. lol
anyway I'm about to head out, peace :)

Nature and dreadlocks

General Talk

To me dreadlocks were life and i did give them up for something which was also my life brooke blinebry said:
that is exactlly how i feel...for me it is more then a hair style its a life style..and its representing the way i am trying to live my life in whole. The fact that it is what your hair does naturaly is what makes them so beautiful...i think if more people felt this way they wouldnt be so concerned in speeding up the process. Love yourself

soaringeagle said:
thats exactly whhat i always say..
and jester..
we have dreads because we are natural humans living as close to our natural way as possible..
dreads are the natural state of hair its whats nmeant to be when you stop all unnatural processes, thats why tio me unnatural processes like backcombing and crochet make no sence tro me for making what nature creates naturaly

(and beautifuly)
