Itchy and flaky scalp

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Try head and shouldrers shampoo, I think all dreadlocks itch, its just a part of having them.

the opinion of others, who matter...

Introduce Yourself

In my opinion if your wife doesn't allow you to do something you want to do then issues are always going to appear between you two, You need to do what you want to do regardless of what others think, even if it is your wife. I would say go for it, if she doesn't accept it then shes pretty much saying she doesn't accept you as a person and what you want. Sounds like someone has control issues, don't give in.

okay... my dandruff is just getting a lot worse.

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Try head and shoulders that is meant for dandruff. I've used it for like 8 years, its not going to take your dreads out. I find it to work very well actually and it smells nice! I used to put tea tree in my head and shoulders shampoo and it dried my hair out, i think i put too much, try putting less or stop using what you do for like a week and test out head and shoulders I bet you'd like it!

About to dye my dreads.

Introduce Yourself

I have dyed mine and i personally think it dries them out a lot. The hair at the bottom of my locks feels really fake and damaged and the upper part that has been growing like 6 years feels sooo different! Our hair textures are different though and would probably have different results. If you want to dye them go for it! Either way they will look great!

How do you deal with closed minded parents?

General Talk

Just don't give up, your going to be out of there in no time! Once you get a job your all set, save up and get your own place. I would tell your parents how your feeling, and just let them know you are trying your best and see what you could do to help them. I know you said you help out a lot but i'd just put it out there to them. Do it at the right time too.. not when they are in the middle of yelling at you. Find a time when they are sitting down watching tv or something. I think it will help a lot. If you have the support from your parents it will only get better. A little <3 to <3 never hurt anyone! It will work!

How do you deal with closed minded parents?

General Talk

Think positive!! You will get a job:) If i were you id definitely try and get out of your parents as soon as you can. No one needs to be around that. You're parents are supposed to be there for you in time of need. They are probably just taking their problems out on you unconsciously. Do you have a friend to live with?

Loving My Dreads.

General Talk

I never really understood weaves, I work with a variety of different people, some being young black women and they are always changing their hair, and its painful and expensive!!!! I'm always so curious about it touching their hair. Anyway, I'm glad you stopped, it looks great:) Also, there is nothing more beautiful then the skin tones of a African American Woman. When the light hits your skin it truly is stunning!!Here is a prime example of a beautiful black woman:)
