Books :)

General Questions

Here are some fiction books that I highly recommend:Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, JrJitterbug Perfume by Tom RobbinsThe World According to Garp by John IrvingIf you get a chance to read any of these and are interested in some other suggestions just let me know. My wife and I read three to four books a piece every week, and I have a ton of others I could recommend.

Trimming the ends?

Dread Maintenance

Hey S.E. I have a question for you: I have really curly hair and about 95% ( probably a 100 or more of my locks) of my dreads have naturally blunted tips, should I worry about trapping moisture in them as they get older and longer? Should I try to "un-blunt" them? I really don't want to do anything to them since they're natural but everyone seems to says its bad for your locks to have blunted ends. soaringeagle said:
90% of mine are still like that ..thank god!
10% blunted on theyre own.. those ones hold water in the ends forever..
when the rest of the dreads are just barely damp the blunted tips are so soaked u can squeeze water out of them

when your hairs wet it soaks downwards lbeing drawn out the ends loose ends it drips out easily, but bluntred it pools in the tips which then take up to 3 times longer to dry

when theyre long that will mean days longer..if u surf daily your gonna get moldy

dont ever let anyone ,make you feel likje you need to fix your dreads or do anything to improve them..
theryre perfect as is

besides shouldnt dreading be a step away from vanity instead of being a slave to it?

Music Anyone?

General Talk

If you want something to relax to you should check out some down-tempo like Tosca or Zero Seven. Another excellent album to chill out to is Moon Safari by Air.

ya know...

Dread Maintenance

I agree the less you mess with your hair the faster your locks mature and I think that allows your hair to take care of itself.

phatties or skinny dreads?

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

My locks are all pretty skinny. I have 112 or so locks and my fattest locks aren't even as big around as my pinkie finger. That being said I like the fatties but I think my hair decided it likes the skinny ones best.

Whats up!

Introduce Yourself

Throw away your comb, quit conditioning your hair, and don't cut you hair( you can wash your hair every couple of days)... It is as easy as that. Your hair won't start locking until it is over a couple inches long but give it time and you'll have locks before you know it.

Unraveling

Dread Maintenance

Just leave them be for now. The more you mess with them the longer they'll take to mature. They are going to be loose at the root for a while and until they mature trying to knock the frizz down is just going to do more harm than good. It takes time for your locks to mature so don't sweat it.
