I have questions about dreadwax - yes, I'm really asking this here lol

Dread Products

i used the whole DHHQ kit, im a perfectionist and always cautious of messing anything up. i never used too much wax, in fact i probly used less than what the site said, followed directions to the T. i stopped using products, because i hated how the wax felt in my hair, and did not like the smell of the shampoo or how it made my hair feel.i havent messed with my hair for a little over a year and a half and im happier with the natural method. no products, no maintenance.about three months ago i noticed some mold in one of my dreads, i cut off the part that looked infected and it was the "dhhq" part of my dreadies. not only was there mold on the out but in as well, above that point, where i had stoped maintaining, was free of mold.

"Metalhead" and "Hippie's"

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

dont really like putting my self into categories either, cause im more than one. so as SE put it, i have a rounded personality. but ive been into the metal scene for close to 10 years now and id say they are the exact opposite. the idea of metal is darkness and hate and pain.but sure there are things in common:Mary Janemusicfeelings against the man (couldnt think of a better word)

starting waxy dreadheadhq dreads over naturally

Dreading Methods

yeah not good with short hair. might hurt lol but if you wanted to brush em, than just soak your hair in conditioner, itll make it a whole lot easier to brush.Remiss said:
Thanks for you answers guys!
ok maybe I will try to get more out, but boiling water when your hair are kinda short is a bit dangerous... And SE, thats what I think I was gonna do but its a lot of work to comb theese dreads out, I will try to find help :P, thats probably what i'll do. I will think about it a couple of weeks and I will see what I will do... I'll let you know

starting waxy dreadheadhq dreads over naturally

Dreading Methods

i did the whole dhhq thing and waxed for a little bit. ive been dreading for 3 years now and i love my dreads. i got the wax out by boiling water and then dipping my dreads in. at first i didnt think that it was working but then i sat up and looked in the water to find that it had a yellow tint to it. SE posted something about on a thread. thats how i learned about it.but its your hair man. if you want to keep them, than try to get the wax out some more. if its too much than cut or brush them. it took about 3 dips in the hot water to fully remove all of the wax, that i know of. they feel great now!it sounds like you used waaay too much wax in the beginning if you can still feel it. of course any wax is too much wax lol ive thought about starting over but i decided not to. i figured my hair is like a time line, ive done so much to it and i can see all the diff. techniques and methods of maintenance. i like it like that though, because i can use them as examples. now im going natural and i like it the most. they look more organic.

Stoked to get some dreads going

Introduce Yourself

i used to shave the bottom half of my hair, but now im letting it dread naturally. since i already have dreads on top i wash my hair with the bakingsoda mix. i wash my hair once a week, and the bottom portion seems to be locking up pretty well, but it didnt start until it was about 7 or 8 inches. i still i have a long way to go, so dont get discouraged early on. be patient :-)
