Looking for a Tam

General Talk

Hi, I've been looking for a tam recently and after taking a look on Etsy I couldn't really decide on what I wanted. Does anyone here make tams? If you do maybe I could buy one off you, my dreads are medium length I guess, but really thick and poofy. (I'll add a picture at the bottom of this post) Generally I'm looking for earthly colors like brown, tan, white, green, black. Preferably I'd like it made from wool.

What is my hair doing?

General Questions

Hi :DOkay quick review of whats going on is I started growing my hair out last summer mainly going the natural route but I have done TnR on and off but lately I've just been letting it do its own thing.. Just wanted some experts to look at these pictures and tell me what stage my hair is going through right now and any recommendations you could suggest!

Ripping smaller dreads apart?

Introduce Yourself

Today we decided to TnR my dreads today and I just got a few guestionsIs ripping apart very thin dreadlocks a good idea? Or should I just leave them alone to get thicker over time?Is it better to start them off thin or big?

Many people on this site would recommended that you simply stop washing your hair with traditional shampoos, and conditioners and move onto less residuey hair washing formulas like the baking soda wash, or even Dr. Bonners. Oh, and stop combing your hair.Besides that, all you need to do is limit how much residue you get on your scalp (Baking soda rinse usually cleans it right off), don't use wax, don't pay someone to dread your hair, throw out your combs, find a hobby for the next few months as you wont be touching your hair that much.Just let em grow. ;)
