hair that doesnt dread?

Introduce Yourself

try this - only wash with water once a week and then only use baking soda/acv/salt water once a month.. Your hair will get really oily at first, but don't worry. Your hair should start to dread up and some days it will look like it all comes undone. It is part of the process. Once you hit the 5-6 month mark, you should notice a big difference. Stay away from the hat thing - in my experience it made things worse. I found being outside in the wind really helped things out too.Hopefully this might help... it helped in my situation. I think every person is bit different and they just have to find their groove of things.don't t&r over and over again - you will really damage your hair.

Regrets, and a shift in philosophy

Dreading Methods

Faelwynn - I like your thoughts and totally agree.Ryan - just let your hair be from now on and let nature do her thing. Don't fuss over them. In time nature in a way take back your hair just like it does with everything else in time. I think dreads separate us from vanity, but when you start worrying about them and rolling them and all those other things - it is not freeing and it becomes vain. So i'm glad you are all about the natural way! If you start over, that is cool... and if you just rock the natural thing from now on, that is great too! No more worrying :) You my friend seem like a very wise person - i enjoyed reading your post.PEACE LOVE FREEDOM TRUTH AND LIGHT

Cutting Dreadlocks???

Life Issues Facing Dreads

dreadlocks are more than just hair, and obviously you know that... YOU are NOT your band hat. I have to agree with Didjeridurian on this one... Uniforms are not YOU. I don't know you, but your face and your dreads give off a really great glow together - the type of vibe that the world needs. Honestly, your dreads are amazing!!! NO to conformity. I'm sorry if this isn't the right thing you want to hear right now, but i had to give my 2 cents.Seems like you have already made your decision though. Anyhow, it isn't the end of the world. If you are 150% HAPPY with your decision, then go for it!Peace Love Truth and Light brother.

Makes me pissed, people i thought were my friends...

General Talk

I've learned to ignore the comments about the hair and everything else... When people do make comments and such it kinda makes me feel good that i'm not apart of "THAT" anymore. They just don't "GET IT". We are all on another page completely. Be at peace and be happy... don't ever give back the negative vibes.

Play any instruments?

General Talk

played the drums for a while - years back. play the jaw harp, djembe, and just bought a didg and am learning it now. I also have a native flute, and i can't play any songs on it... but i absolutely love it. I wish i could jam out on a flute like Jethro Tull... now that would be awesome! I'm thinking of buying an old vintage german harmonica next. If i had more money, i'm sure i would have a huge collection of weird instruments too.
