Combed them out.... :(

So I am letting it go again. I took the time to throw a little henna in my hair. Did not color much but it conditioned my hair way too much. Now my hair is all nice and soft and tangle free. Ugh! Oh well.

I am thinking of doing it again. I don't even really know why I did it. I was mad at my husband and emotional and probably hormonal.
I got upset last night and washed and conditioned my hair and combed it. I cried.
I should not have done it. Since June 22, now all that progress is gone. My hair is all flat and limp. I am sad.
So now it has been a month since I combed or brushed. Some days things look like they are progressing. Other days it looks like everything loosened up. I think things go so slow because I wear my hair up most days. I am hiding itfrom my husband
I started leaving my hair alone around June 20, 2013. My hair is a little more than shoulder length. I did not really mean to let my hair dread but I liked how it was looking and decided to just let it ride. I really don't have a before picture with my hair down. I tend to hide from the camera because I hate how I look in pictures.
Here is My hair on June 29, 2013. It is up of course. This was at the reception after my grandfather's burial.
Next is a picture of me being goofy on around July 12, 2013. I don't think you can tell but it is "clumpier" in photo number two. I guess I need a pic with it down. Maybe on my one month no brush-a-versary. I am finding some little loopies and things already.
It looks awesome. I have never been to anything like it before. Now I am just crossing my fingers and toes that I can come up with the money for it in time!
Any natural ladies headed to this event in NH next month? I am planning on it and wondered if anyone here might be going too
My husband is basically a grumpy 75 year old man trapped in a 28 year old body. He is VERY old fashioned and very set in his ways. His tastes are more in line with my grandparent's than his generation. He thinks dreads are a dirty hippie thing. Sigh.......
A few weeks ago I went back to only using Dr. B's for my hair and body. I also started wearing my hair up in a little clippy thing. I loved how it looked. I loved how it looked even more when I did not comb or brush it. I have not combed in about 3 weeks.
Only problem I have is my husband HATES dreads. I mean HATES HATES HATES them. I have not said anything though. He said my hair looked cute last night. Hopefully that trend continues.
I love the simplicity of removing a couple more things from my personal care routine. One soap. No conditioning, no combing, no hair dryer, no brush. Simplicity is the best!
