Introduce Yourself

Hey Alot of you know me already but i figured i would do this just to let you guys know I am Mafrican from the old forums, and i got a new account and stuff so yea.I have had my Backcombed dreads for 1 year and a month and now they look great . and everyone was right they do just start coming together.I first came to the dreadlock forums looking for answers and help but now with the little wisdom i have from my dreadlock journey I hope that I can return the favor.Just thought i'd say i live in greenville ohio so there are like no dreadppl here and its kind of sad, well i have seen a few but its a small town so you still get looked at weird for having dreads and the ever so annoying questions (how did you do that, how long did it take you,blla bla bla , but the one i will never forget from the ditziest girl ever "Uhmm Does your hair still grow when its like that" haha i told her "no it completely stops growing all together because it knows") But because of eagles story i should be more nice and encouraging to people who ask about them because i could very well be the start of their dreadlocks because he was one of those annoying people who asked about them and then he got them because of it so for now on i wil give as much information and encouragement as I can. thanks soaringeagle for these beautiful and needed forums etc. your the man. btw I Loooooove Daft Punk and i do talkbox tutorials and such on youtube if anyone is interested heres a link, if you've never seen talkbox you should check it out its a pretty amazing thing youtube.com/HUm4ns

well where i live there is at least 5 weird looks a day if i am in public, i used to hate it but now i love it because i fell like "haha i am different than you".. its just normall is tooo .. boring

omg omg omg as soon as i read this i got soooo excited YAAAY the thought of little kids with dreadlocks makes me soo happy . first of all dreadlocks is really rare where i am at so when i see someone with dreadlocks i freak out with excitement and then if i see a girl with dreadlocks which i did ina different city it makes me 100 times more excited because thats like super rare to me and now little kids omg i am having like a seizure (ok maybe that could have been offennsive) but that is just so great and i love how you think they should be able to decide for themselves because tahts how my mom was with me, but she says getting to choose your hairstyle is a privelege and if i get bad grades and stuff etc she would cut them off . i dont think she would thought but its a pretty frightening threat if you know what i mean. ohh i am so excited to see you kid with dreadlocks i am worried they will quit out though cuz its always rough in the beginning. plz encourage her as much as possible. i didnt even answer your question i was just to excited and then i get talking , but YES i would love for my kids to have dreadlocks if i one day had kids.

omg you totally should becuase i know nothing of crocheting but want to make my own hat so baad, i mean i have a rasta colored one but sometimes i would just want one that isnt. i am kinda just wanting to get a plain brown one or tan colored one.

i do both i am lazy so i like to let the d o there own thing yet at the same time i wan to keep them how they are. i dont eant them goign togethere and stuff liek that so my mom crochetes them every once in a while because she wants me to at least look a little decent because i am still in school and still have "people to impress" ugh i tell her quit being a conformist and she says im not conforming i just want you to look nicer. ah but its ok with me. they are working and thats what matters.

nice story, i did something like that, a girl gave me a few strands of her hair and i crocheted them in one of my dreads because i knew i would always be with this girl and so far i have for over 2 years, shes one of those friends you wont lose.and she changed my life alot. but what gave me the idea of getting dreads was natty hes like a new hip hop reggae guy hes music is awesome he does "bedroom eyes" and "july" etc. its not teh natty your thinking of the old natty, because thats what everyone thinks whenn i talk about him but its a new guy. and i stumbled across his video on youtube and one night i stayed up for hours just laying in my bed and i was like suddenly you know what i feel like dreadlocks fit me. so the next morning i told my mom i was like i know it sounds crazy but its all i want and shes like yeees and i was like dreadlocks and shes like ok. and i was like really and she was like yea you would be cute with dreadlocks, and so it went from there.
