4 to 5 inches at tips not matting up yet

Introduce Yourself

for months and months i had tips that were completely unlocked, in time they worked out, a few I messed with (crocheting) and they looked better instantly but left weird bumps over a longer period of time.but least your position isn't that terrible to be in :)

Palm Rolling? Necessary or Unescessary?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

nope, funny way to get water out though after a shower on an individual lock, otherwise what paula said summed it up.

Hey everyone, a little help please?

Introduce Yourself

^ yeah I just got friends to backcomb mine, for free. the actual act of backcombing or any other starter method isn't that hard to pick up.

the contents of wax like vitamin e an whatever can be good for hair but not for Dreadlocks because of all the problems it can cause.are you going to a "pro" usually they can screw you over pretty big with their prices and if they don't really know what they are doing they can sometimes use harmful/detrimental methods that slow down your hair from really locking, how much are you paying? normal would probably be like around 40-60$ from what most people pay, but depending on the ego of some people ive heard it going up to 600$ and sometimes these expensive locks were just mangled hair covered in gel that immediately fell apart to normal hair in a few days/weeks.best thing if you really wanna go to a loctician is to research exactly what method you want/find out what methods they do and tell them exactly what you want, best maintenance afterwards is to just keep your hair clean and separated if they start to congo

seriously, coca cola dreadlocks?! and blah, cigarette smoke

Dreading Methods

eh yeah I'd really try to convince him out of doing that, hell if he wanted something sticky and messy as hell he could just use honey, least the ph on that isn't crazy like coke so it won't burn his hair,, as for cleaning yeah just do something with tea tree, that's always been my savior in conjunction with other essential oils

decided to go thicker

Introduce Yourself

my post just deleted itself,,but i roughly said as long as its what you want thats what matters, just make sure that if they are going to be thick that you don't let to many congo/combine since you can't go back really. where as with thinner locks you can just always let them combine in the future, sometimes they just sneak up on you and combine be4 you notice.
