sounds good to me, here at home is where the biggest effect is happening, and you can change it in the future if you choose to.

Dread Maintenance

oh i didn't even notice you meant that wind was getting sand in your hair, Definitely always at least get your locks soaked in the ocean, it really is imo the best natural thing to speed it up and help them tighten, If i can stand getting destroyed by waves here and getting sand and seaweed in it you should be ok,

Dread Maintenance

^gotta agree, I've been going to the beach alot lately, (yay for hurricane waves) and it's been amazing for my hair, immediately afterwards I have alot of loose hairs, but they feel so rough that they join with other hair quite fast,on a side note, these same waves have been really rough so I was turned into a ragdoll a few times and get plenty of sand/seaweed to deal with to (seaweed is terrible get it out fast) the sand will wash out pretty easy, I haven't taken a shower to deal with the sand for good yet (waiting till my regular soap day) but it's not detrimental, if the little sand you might have leftover from just water washing still itches, then just clean it out well at home.

rectangle sections = flat dreads?

Dread Maintenance

all my sections are square/rectangular and a few random shapes, they will change alot, but just because the section is one shape, doesn't mean the lock will be :)

Should I TnR??

Dreading Methods

not too surprising to not see a huge change in a month, but like KS said, if you wanna start with T&R you can do so if you decide it's what you want, but other than that your doing everything right :)

Life Issues Facing Dreads

usually you have to do your best not to be an ass back, though I know anytime anyone tries to pull that whole "OH YOU TRIEEEN TO BE BLACK OR SOMETHING" card on me, my heart immediately starts racing as I contain myself from going off on them and ranting about how full of shit they are.tell them you keep your hair clean which is more than most people could even say (least its cleaner than theirs anyways :P )and that they are more important to you than w/e false social stigma they have built up in their mind. let alone that dreadlocks occur without effort in ALL HUMAN HAIR, doesn't matter what color you are.... /facepalm

help me out!!

Introduce Yourself

interesting, aloe vera is actually conditioning and shouldn't be drying it out in any sense, however there are many many things you can try, even as an additive to your current soap,, which leads to my question, what do you wash with right now? lol*edit* SE's jojoba suggestion didn't appear till now, but that'd be one of the first things I'd say to check out, or some combination of that with vitamin e,if you use Dr bronners, alot of (at least the liquid soap) has that already in it with some other essential oils and it keeps your hair in good condition.

Welcoming people

General Talk

that's really good to hear man!i know you were having a rough time with peers, but it's always helpful to be around at least a few non condescending people occasionally ;)but as they mature im sure you'll get that even less.
