I've been feeling very judgemental of myself lately

Introduce Yourself

Try being silent then. You'll probably notice that people want to talk to you more.

Dying Dreads

Introduce Yourself

Find out if your dye is acidic or alkaline, after washing out the dye very thoroughly use baking soda or apple cider vinegar to neutralize it. I don't think black dye is overly damaging but blond definitely fries hair.

Seperating dreads

Dread Maintenance

Going natural you will get chunks of loose hair in between dreads, most of it will either form it's own dread or combine into another later. I still have a few patches of loose hair at my hairline, not a big deal. No one notices unless I point it out to them. I repeatedly get asked what I 'do' to them, how I blunted my tips, etc...I get strange looks when I tell them "Nothing....".

Zhuangzi interpretations?

General Talk

I don't remember where it came from but there was a saying that I really liked. It was about if you try to grip sand it will slip through your fingers but if you hold it in your open palm it will stay. Cody Pitt said:
Thats a good one. Thats more of what the wise man one is about and what I was trying to get at. It's like all those people who don't have dreads and know nothing about them and they see you have them and they come up to you and tell you how you should do them and stuff then you just look at them and smile

To paraphrase Mark Twain(I think...): It's better to not speak and let people think you are stupid than to speak and remove all doubt.

Thats really good. It reminds me of a quote in the Tao Te Ching. I don't know it word for word but it's something like this. "A wise man does not speak, an unwise man speaks". A wise man does not need to speak to be wise learning his knowledge through his actions and life experiences. An unwise man speaks pretending to know knowledge as he has yet to learn from his actions and life experiences. For some reason your understanding reminded me of this so I thought I would put it up

I'd see it as saying that there is no real way to know what you are going to confront in your life or how you react until you come to it and that wisdom through whatever situations you come across in life is more important than knowledge.

Discouraged

Introduce Yourself

The nutrients from dead skin cells, dust, scalp oils, whatever finds your way into you dreads is what the mold lives on. Just basic biology....
