Hmm, sounds interesting,

Dread Products

LOL, I didn't even look up the price. The words they used are fairly ridiculous, but the idea seemed intriguing. I'd just like for 1 or 2 celebrities to start washing with BS and ACV so that the world's scientists will tell people how affective IT is.

Hmm, sounds interesting,

Dread Products

Found this story on Yahoo, sounds interesting, tho I've not done any extra research to see if leaves residue on individual hair strands, so I'm not certain if it would really be beneficial for dreaded hair, but still interesting.

Does your hair look like its gone through the deep fryer?

Most people long for the luscious hair and sensuous movement you see shampoo commercials, but all we get is a hot, frizzy mess. In this day and age, our hair tends to be damaged, over-processed FRIED. Its been weakened by years of blow drying, straightening, curling, dyeing and excessive use of styling products that robs hair of its moisture.

For many women, the only option has been to mask the problem by cutting off the damage. Thats because shampoos and other hair care products do very little actual good. Its a little known secret that most hair care products contain molecules that are too large to penetrate the crucial areas needed for visible, lasting results. The ingredients, regardless of how advanced they are, simply settle on the surface of the hair and wash off. (Think polyester, where water beads up and rolls off).

Well, that all may be about to change thanks to the development of a new technology thats at the core of the new overnight Hair treatment called Phyx from Kronos. Right now its the hottest thing happening in hair care.

The buzz surrounding Kronos and its award-winning Phyx has to do with the groundbreaking new technology called T-SFERE, which uses nano-technology to deliver ingredients deep into the structural core of the hair (scalp, follicle and shaft) in order for them to take true effect. Kronos T-SFERE allows hair to act like absorbent cotton, soaking up powerful ingredient complexes so they can actually interact with the hairs structural core.

You simply apply to dry hair before bed massaging a small amount from roots to tips. The formula is instantly absorbed without leaving any residue on your pillow. When you wake, simply wash your hair as usual. Only you will notice something quite unusual. Your hair will be fuller, softer, shinier and healthier. With continued use, the results are significant and dramatic.

Phyx was just rated as the #1 Overnight Hair Treatment by The Good Housekeeping Institute, scoring best overall in laboratory and consumer performance ratings. In a 4-week independent clinical study, Kronos was shown to:

Help hair retain color by 96 percentImprove luster and shine by 96 percentReduce split ends and breakage by 96 percent

Increase hair hydration by 91 percent Boost hair volume and body by an unprecedented 96 percent

And, even more remarkably, many women have started reporting that Phyx actually accelerates hair growth.

So, if you feel the urge wave the white flag and give up in your battle against unruly damaged hair, perhaps your knight in shining armor has arrived. Simply apply Phyx, get your beauty rest, and start waking up to the hair of your dreams.

Right now Kronos is being offered exclusively at DermStore.com, at highly discounted introductory rates.

Essential oils question

Dread Maintenance

A carrier oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fatty portion of a plant, usually from the seeds, kernels or the nuts.If applied to the skin undiluted, essential oils, absolutes, CO2s and other concentrated aromatics can cause severe irritation or reactions in some individuals. Carrier oils are used to dilute essential and other oils prior to application. They carry the essential oil onto the skin.Essential oils are distilled from the leaves, bark, roots and other aromatic portions of a botanical. Essential oils evaporate and have a concentrated aroma. Carrier oils, on the other hand, are pressed from the fatty portions (seeds, nuts, kernels) and do not evaporate or impart their aroma as strongly as essential oils. Carrier oils can go rancid over time, but essential oils do not. Instead, essential oils "oxidize" and lose their therapeutic benefits, but they don't go rancid.

Super duber itchies

Dread Maintenance

No problem, and remember, washing is good, the water gets the hair moving, may not move in the direction you'd like, but dreads are like kids, you should guide them and give them what they need, but they may not turn out to be just what you'd hoped for. Personally, mine have always turned out better than I'd planned and pushed for.

Super duber itchies

Dread Maintenance

SUP TRON!!! Go out to a health food store and pick up some peppermint oil. That shit is magic! Get some on a cotton ball and spot treat the itchies. I just restarted my dreads again (for like the 6th fuggin time) and I'm trying to deal with super itchy scalp right now, so I've just started carrying around peppermint and clove oil. Clove will numb the skin, great for head aches, but you can spot treat with that too and it'll numb up the itchy spots. Plus clove and peppermint both smell amazing!!!!

i have 15 dreads how to put them back in?

Help! Save My Dreads

Eh, it's a simple process once to you understand how it works, but you'll have to try it out a few times to figure out how it works best for you. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is, but it'll be harder to understand until you give it a shot.

i have 15 dreads how to put them back in?

Help! Save My Dreads

I've reattached set after set of dreads, starting with my brothers dreads. I've developed a bit of a technique, but it takes a lot longer than TnR or back combing. I start a new set of dreads, then let them mature for a few months. I try to speed up their development by sleeping on a wool pillow case, spraying with sea salt water, and waring a wool tam around the house.Once they've tightened to the point that I don't worry about them coming undone in the shower or when I'm messing around with them hardcore. Then I do about what SE and Personal Jesus said; comb out the tip of the new dreads, and comb out the root of the old dreads. Then mash and mesh them together. Now, instead of using a crochet hook (because of the damage it can cause) I use a yarn darner and thread. A yarn darner is a big ass sewing needle meant for sewing with yarn. I use it because the eye of the needle is so much bigger than a regular sewing needle so it's easier to thread.I thread the needle with a piece of thread, making a loop coming out of one side of the needles eye. Then pull a little piece of hair (just a few strands) thru the loop of thread. Pull the loop of thread back out of the eye of the needle, and it threads your hair into the eye. Then just push the needle thru the dread to literally sew them together. You'll obviously want to be sewing the loose hair of the new dread into the knotted hair of the old dread, and the loose hair of the old dread into the knotted hair of the new dread.Don't stress over getting every little hair sewn in, that would take hours longer than this extremely long process needs. Once you've gotten enough sewn in, in both directions, that they don't separate when you give them a firm tug you'll want to just mass the joint even more. Palm roll it, ringer it hardcore, do whatever you can to knot it up best possible. Then you'll want to wrap the joint or bead it. I'd recommend wrapping in 100% wool yarn.Wool will help dread the joint because wool transfers charged electrons for neutral, basically making static electricity, and that will encourage movement. You don't want to put anything in your hair to help it dread, unless it's a natural tonic (like those found on this site). But realistically, all you'll need is time and patience.KthnxBYE

do u guys think this hair would naturally dread (neglect)

Dreading Methods

Every hair type will dread, given time, probably extensive time for your hair. Don't remove the TnR dreads, just let them go and do their own thing, they'll loosen significantly before they start to lock back up. I'd give it a few months. In the mean time, get a wool sweater from a used clothes store and fashion it into a pillow case. Wool transfers charged electrons to none charged materials (it creates static), static = movement, movement = dreading. You may also want to try a very light sea salt spray. Mix only a teaspoon into a large spray bottle of water, or a small pinch into a smaller bottle. Spray it on your hair at some point in the day, let it air dry, then rinse later. The salt will cause each strand of hair to become more course, thus able to hold onto other strands more readily. I sleep on it, then rinse in the morning. You don't want to leave it in as it will build up and can cause scalp irritation among other problems.Just be patient. Later son.

at my roots i have loops what do i do

General Questions

I like my loops and kinks, they add character. There are some things you can do to rid yourself of them, if you really want to, but this early in the process, there is little that can be done without causing damage. You'll just have to live with it for a few months, let your dreads mature, they may absorb on their own, or maybe not. And who knows, by the time your dreads are mature enough to do work on them like that, you may not want to, why change what happens naturally?
