Need honest opinions and help asap

Introduce Yourself

What's the point of dreads if you just go dump money at some shit hole that's going to fuck up your hair. Sorry im being crass, I no longer seem to have the patience or understanding for the willing stupidity (ignorance) of people looking for a quick fix. Just shave your head and have that turned into "dreads" at the salon. Then you can take them off and stare at them endlessly. It is only a look you're going for after all as it's obvious you don't understand anything else about them.

General Talk

I hope that didn't come off as rude, wasn't meant to be. I do respect your opinion, but naturally must vie for my own first.

I don't really like arguing or debating much, unless it's a topic of great interest...and this one just doesn't fall into that category. At least not in this forum, at this time, in this state. So this is probably as far as it'll go.

Have a good one dude.

Well that's just like...your opinion man. Besides, what is it they say about...statistics. I believe it's something similar as to which is said about history, and the winners. As for me being ridiculous, hell yes. And actually, from a geological standpoint...the planet is moving into a new stage. Did the industrial revolution cause this? No. Curious, do you support the hole in the ozone theory? It is true that in large metropolitan areas the air quality is worse, the pollutants are worse. But this doesn't really explain properly what is occurring on a global scale.

Meh, it's too late in the evening, and I've better things to do than to argue a point which, on either side, is for the most part lacking of empirical proof.

Take care! \o/

I'm sorry but Derek that's ridiculous, if you had a look at the statistics and charts you would see that there has been a massive increase in world temperatures and other climatic extremes ever since the industrial revolution, this isn't something that the earth just transitioned into like a 'season', these changes picked up around the industrial revolution. This is the fault of the human race and blaming it on the universe is just ludicrous and cowardly, while I understand many people do their best to reduce their environmental footprint, we all need to take responsibility as a race and do our best to sort this out.

Climate Change

General Talk

It's just a cycle. A galactic season of sorts, to put it in broad terms.

No need to really worry, it's not inherently good or bad, it's just change. The reason people are freaking out

so bad about it is (aside from the scam artists acting as profits of doom) it has never really been recorded before.

What is the cheapest possible way to get my dreads started?

General Questions

Baking Soda/Apple Cider Vinegar is grand usually. Don't EVER use baking soda without using apple cider vinegar as well. I've heard terrible things. Always make sure the baking soda is completely rinsed out as well, or you could start a chemical reaction on your head. Remember, less is more. Start small so you can work your way up and figure out what your skins needs are. A good rule for the amount of baking soda, generally...if the water/baking soda mix is not translucent, then you've probably used too much. It should be 100% dissolved and it shouldn't look too foggy.

If SE was an idiot...I don't think this place would still be running. Besides, you know what they say about name calling, from both sides. At the very least, we can agree to disagree and look past the differences and embrace the likenesses. What works for you, or me, or anyone...may not work for the next person. Instead of arguing a moot point that really can't be proven in one or several tests or studies, we should all just get along. These aren't the droids were looking for. Move along, move along.

Here is a quote...I'll let ya figure out where it came from:

Modern medicine is...

in so many words...

Let's put this toxic substance into the human body.

Let's hope that we destroy whatever is harming the host before we kill or permanently detract from the host.

Did we win? Oh...hey...we managed to blow out your kidneys. We got you on a list for a transplant, but we need to talk about the insurance. We also managed to damage most of your liver, but that should mostly be fine...within a few years.

Something we did managed to run your endocrine system on overload, and now it is permanently damaged, so here is the medication you'll need for the rest of your life.

But HEY! We managed to wipe out the caner!

Did we mention we caused the cancer?

Through a carefully implemented system of controlled eugenics?

disasterous dreadlocks after 5 months... what to do?

Help! Save My Dreads

I personally think they look pretty sweet =)

But yeah...I don't blame ya for wanting to split the big ole ones. I had to do that to

three of mine. At least, no matter if you decide to leave them or not...at least you didn't use wax, hooks, etc.

So regardless what you decide to do...your dreads will show ya love and be beautiful!

coping with emotions :(

Dreads in the Family

It's hard to do, but don't allow anyone other than yourself to really influence your emotions to such a degree as to question your self worth and such. Words spoken out of anger or any variation on that emotion are usually shallow and fleeting words. At least in my experiences.

Itchy scalp still. Please help!

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I've had on and off itching still as well, but I have pretty sensitive skin anyways. I've had luck with patchouli actually. I put some in a normal water bottle, then fill the bottle up with water. Shake it reeeeeal well, then pour it over my head after the washing and rinsing is done, kind of a last step. For the most part, it really seems to help. It's worth a try anyways.
