BEAT THE HEAT!?!

General Questions

oh lord you live in Alaska? i bet you are cold. where are you moving to? yeah ive got cousins in Cali and they freak out when they visit because of the humidity and bugs. they say "in Cali, the bugs run away from you not towards you!". lucky bastards lol. ive heard Cali has the best climate.

BEAT THE HEAT!?!

General Questions

Hey guys :)

so i live in GA and its gone from freezing to burning up this week. i am noticing that having dreads is kinda like wearing a wool blanket on my head lol. what do some of you guys do to keep from getting too hot. the only thing ive found so far is wearing it pretty much on the top of my head. which is crazy cool. but i was wondering what my other options might be or what ideas you guys have. i bet SE could use them as a blanket...

im going to have dreads forever so i can have a dready blanket :D

Crochet Hook

Dread Maintenance

no no no! crochet is really damaging. ive damaged one of mine just trying to get the fuzz out with my fingers. it weakens dreads greatly and i personally think crocheted dreads look wierd...

Tell me about your Dread Decorations?

Introduce Yourself

i have lots of semi permanent glass beads that i put in early in my hourney and they got stuck. i have an earring that was my late grandmothers in my hair. i had another one that was a turquoise cross in there too but i felt it was catching on too many other hairs and breaking them so i took it out. ive had a metal spring in there, my mom crocheted some dread wraps for my, i have one of my dread that i use to tie the rest up and it has a bead on it that i just dont feel right with out. i took it out and something about the lack of weight or osmething bothered me. i had gotten so used to that bead on that dread that i just didnt feel right with out it. my husband recently wrapped sterling silver wire around and in a dread and it looks so cool!! i have a silver ring that i love but cant wear without getting a rash so i put it on one of my dreads and its pretty cool. i get to wear it still. i love adorning my hair. i make a time of it. i will sit down after the babes asleep and decorate my hair lol. i need to take some pics or something.

General Talk

haha me and this girl that worked in subway kept eyeing each other. her dreads were really cool and we gave each other this look, but we didnt speak about it lol. and then i saw this guy in walmart with some baby neglect dreads. and i saw someone at the flea market and he was an african american with natrual dreads which is kinda rare around here. but we just kinda squinty eyed each others dreads...lol its kinda funny. im kinda shy but i have been having more conversations about my dreads since they are more dready now. it is kinda hard to randomly talk to other dreadies. and obviously its a common fear/question because other people scope my dreads and im scoping theres but we dont speak lol...
