Introduce Yourself

hey its been a while since ive posted. i just got power back and while i has no power i have just been sitting playing with my hair. so on that note

when i started dreading i knew i had little bumps in the back of my head like near my neck. and they have gotten so much worse, they still arnt visible unless i move my hair but is there anything i can do to make it go away? i can try and get a little picture but i dont think anything would come out.

Strangers who touch your hair without asking...

Life Issues Facing Dreads

personally go to as many shows over the summer as i can, and prior to me starting my dreads i would always ask people may i touch your hair as creepy as that seems... but idk i have a love for them, and now i have friends and random people who have started conversation with me because of my hair and then asked to touch, i personally do not mind it because i used to do that to people all the time....but people who do it without asking it a little off putting....but once again at many shows people are on things that just attract them to something and they do without thinking it may freak the other person out. my dreads are not long at all and i would expect that in the future people will just grab, i see it as a compliment even though it is creepy. people just may be attracted and think oh its something different leme touch. hah

chunky?

Dread Maintenance

hey so i have been dreading for about 5months, and i went natural after the first month thanks to this site. i have lost about 6-7 inches of hair because of the knots which is understandable, but i do have a fear of having messy grimy looking dreads, personally i dont mind that but i need to hold down a job. how does everyone keep their dreads consistent. i find that many of the photos i see is the idea look i would like to have. so as of now i am shampooing, and occasionally wearing a wool tam, and making sure my roots stay separate. i do play around with a few of my dreads but i really just cant be bothered to palm roll because i had heard it may break apart knots that are there already/

any words would be helpful

as always Thanks.

help

Introduce Yourself

heyy so afgter being on this site i have turned over to natural dreads. i have been dreading for 4 months one week including the time i had wax and interlocked. i am not happy to say im wax FREE. but i know it is important to keep my dreads separated at the roots. what is the best way to keep each one separated? i ripped two apart but i feel this is not a great idea and i fear that i will have huge dreads that i will never be able to take out if needed. thanks

loops:) 4 months.

Introduce Yourself

Hey so i have been on my journey for 4 short months, i started with wax and then 2 weeks after hating it i removed 99.9% of the wax. i am now going all natural and use dr. bronners shampoo (i bought it soaring egal). and i also have dread head hq__bought that prior to bronners.

i have found that the loops are coming along, but i do feel that my hair is shrinking haha, i am at a point where i am just letting them do what they want. just seeing if anyone else went through this stage.

(I will post photos in a little bit just need someone to wake up and take them)

thanks guysss

Dreading Methods

hey i have had my dreads going for three months an 13 days wo. Every time i approach someone with mature dreads asking about their methods and time line they havent been nice to me. not sure if its just the people i encounter.

anyway i just need some help, in the matter that my hair is like just normal hair and looks like it did before i started to dread them. others are getting knotted up very nicely. i am at the point where i wash it with dread head(not looking for new shampoo) i am over spending money on my hair. should i be palm rolling does that do anything?

I know dreads take a long time but i would also like the know the best methods that worked for people who have the nice round dreads. i also get there are some stages of mayham but pleasde help thanks so muchh
