Help! Save My Dreads

I mean, when I look at the roots I'm okay with thesize, but the differencebetween the size of the roots and the size of the actual dreadis what I'm concerned with. Is that a promblem that'll just go away with time?

count how many you have

guestimate the average size of the area at the roots

but keep in mind ..size dont matter

Help! Save My Dreads

I got my dreads done about a week ago(backcombed), and the individual dreads are thinner than I'd like, and while I realize that they do get thicker over time what I'm seeing on me right now, compared to friends of minewhen their dreadswere at the stage mine are at, mine seem considerably thinner.

My question is, how would I go about making the dreads thicker, and at this stage would it bea difficult/overlylengthy process to do at this point?

Considering dreads...

Introduce Yourself

Most likely backcombing; the people I've talked to who have dreads tell em that that would be the better method for what I'm going for.

Introduce Yourself

My dad knows somebody who could get them done, I wouldn't be doing it myself. Most likely would be done by backcombing though; sorry I was unclear on that.

Considering dreads...

Introduce Yourself

I'm a 15 year old white guy in high school and I've been considering getting dreads for quite some time now. My dad's telling me too make a decision so I've got a few questions.

This is what I'm working with now; would I look alright with dreads?

2. I have straight hair in the picture above only because I straighten it pretty regularly. Would the damaged hair be a problem?

3. When/if I get them, could I part my hair to one side, or would I have to part it all down the middle?

Any additional thoughts or comments are welcomed. Thanks!
