Dirty looks and negativity

General Questions

Let there ignorance be there bliss. I am quite heavily tattooed and have ear stretchings, i prob get more prejudice from these tha my dreads...well actually it's hard to tell i suppose i must look different all over lol

but then it's my spiritual journey, nobody else's.

There are many path's to enlightenment. The way you deal with these prejudices will effect your karma, there prejudgement will effect there's. I've stood for lenghs of time while someone has repeatedly told me that i'll regret my tattoos etc. I just smile, i would rather get my kicks from decorating my self in accordance with my spiritual beliefs than from putting others down.

In short don't allow there views to effect you, and don't judge them for there views. Inside there prob just very insecure.

MUCH LOVE !

Seperation?

Dread Maintenance

Muchos Gracius ! Thankyou very much, shall just leave em be then. I have, i suppose seperated a couple when they've joined together. Wanted to make sure that it wasn't being implied that the actual dreads them selves should be seperated apart. Thankyou once again X

Seperation?

Dread Maintenance

I read on hear recently many recomendations to keep seperating the dreads as they knot up. This is something that I haven't been doing (as have only just read it) my dreads are about 3 months now (still very very short but are deffinately decernable as seperate 'dreads?'..maybe still too young to call them that, but they are deffinately individual (quite flat) collections of knots Should i be seperating these or allowing them to continue tightening? MANY THANKSA GUYYS!! X oh and sorry for keep on asking stupid questions

Is this soap safe?

Dread Products

Thankyou all once again, I tried using some diluted, butmy dreads are still very young ( hardly constitute as dreads lol) Yeah the stuff smells awesome, however it did not have the same effect as when I use S.e's baking powder method which has had excellent effects. Believe this is a bit to oily and has left my hair uber soft and much loser tahn before! I think I may try some of this bronners stuff, thanks once again for the advice. This really is an excellent community! I hope that one day I can contribute too instead of just asking all the questions lol. Much Love! Xx

Sea salt spray...How much is too much?

Dread Maintenance

lol Ok thanyou SE, I best wash my hair now. I actually live on the beach and swim at least once a week. With this in mind Iwill just leave the spray out all together.

I understand I will not get mature dreads in a week, I am commited to growing them in an organic fashion. The problem is with all the mixed msgs on the internet, it is hard to decipher exactly what the correct method is. Thankyou once again for your advice, ur knowledge has probarbly prevented me from destroying my hair several times over allready.

Sea salt spray...How much is too much?

Dread Maintenance

Hi everyone, day 3 now, there has been loosening in places as to be expected, Howeverhave been spraying with sea salt solution then drying with hair dryer. This has caused much tightening and generally tidy's them up a bit, is it something I should continue to do in a liberal manner or prehaps restrict it to just every now and then? Is it going to cause a problem if i do it to often? Thankyou once again everyone, big love x

Is this soap safe to use on my dreads?

Dread Products

I tries a natural soap couple of months back (made mostly from different plant oils) I found it conditioned my hair too much though. i know however you say that isn't a problem with the soap your using at the mo.

i did want to point out though that to be honest I've found that the baking soda method works best. Better than any soap i've found, and... it's practically free! Plus you Actually feel deeply cleansed afterwards. i've recently started experimenting adding a few drops of different essential oils for fragrance, and have had some nice results : )
