Dreads falling out?

You wanna do that before showers. Leaving it in longer than a couple hours can be overdrying to the hair

Dreads falling out?

Dread Maintenance

How old are they? If you started them by backcombing or TnR that's common. Those methods are just to start sections and are blueprints more or less. They'll eventually knot up. Just don't redo them. Its normal for them to readjust themsleves :)

starting my neglect journey!

Thanks for the encouraging words guys! I'm so happy I was able to comb them out to start over! And I'll try and post the pics differently next time. I'm using a junker phone for the time being, and I'm wondering if it's not allowing me as many options, because I don't think I see which link you're talking about. Or maybe I'm just blind lol :p

I have no idea if I'm doing this timeline thing right, but hopefully you're able to see my pictures. About a week ago I combed out my year-old dreads so I could start over naturally. Here they are so far! This is at 2 days with no brushing or combing! :)

Partially dreaded - wash

General Questions

Actually, after looking at your picture, you should just go natural. I'd let it dread on its own if I were you. Your hair is perfect for it, and it'd lock up pretty fast on its own I bet!

Partially dreaded - wash

General Questions

You could take the bands out and wash, and your hair should actually start to section itself naturally over the next couple weeks, as long as you don't comb it or brush it in the meantime. You definitely do want to wash it though. The cleaner your hair is, the faster and easier it'll lock up :)
