Happy Hippie Chick

Introduce Yourself

I'm a good 4 or 5 months into recovery, and I wasn't a frequent user, thank the happy hippie stars. My motto now? "Nappy is Natural" never felt more groovy! Been dreaded for a year and a half, was the start of bringing the person inside to the outside...

Happy Hippie Chick

Introduce Yourself

Hello dread brothers and sisters! Just wanted to say how happy I am to be a part of this community. I love all the various stages of dreads, the different hair types and the cool experiences.

I'm a reformed crocheter, recovery is coming along nicely. My dreads are natural and happy now, with the information and support from the forums.

Anyway, just a happy shout out!

Shelly

help! strange feeling roots

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Try lightly drying your roots with a hairdryer with a diffuser once a week or so to spring your hair's natural body back...also, try dropping your essential oils just a few drops, you might be just a bit heavy for your scalp.

New Dreads - Seeking guidance

Dread Maintenance

if you gotta blow dry, use a diffuser...my hair's a sponge, so i resort to that sometimes. Nothing works like the SUN!

Na, you got a great selection already out here! Fabulous crafty folks...love it. I run a small hippie type shop, barely have enough time to keep the family supplied anymore. It would be a terrible thing to make them use 'store bought'!

I make soap, with that many oils, it all depends on his methods...is it cold process lye soap? and how old are your dreads? (I bet it smells wonderful.) I've found that olive oil as the largest percentage of oils makes a soap too conditioning for dreads most of the time. A good way for you to make a guess, when you use it on your skin, does it rinse clean or does it leave a filmy feel?
