dread dreams

General Talk

So ill start by saying my first dread experience was the waxy manufctured type, I had wanted dreads for several year but believed my thin straight hair wouldn't knot on its own. Dumb, I know. So in December I took the plunge and backcombed and waxed. From day one I dreaded the feel and look of my hair. I looked like sideshow bobs wax statue. I kept this hair for a month hoping it would turn out like the rest of knottyboy wax customers. In that first month I had dreams about me cutting my locks, shaving my head, people telling meto cut them, etc. Terrible dreams to have when you first get dreads. These dreams ultimately lowered my confidence about my hair. I was days away from shaving my head when I found this site and learnt the real truth about natural dreads. So days later I combed my hair got all the garbage out and started the proper way. I'm 2 months into natural and havent had a single dream about my dreads, good or bad. Which is a good thing I think. As well my confidence is on the rise. I dunno how to end this so here it goes. The end

avoid dirty lakes?

Dread Maintenance

They are already thinking about banning boats from being on the lake. but i think the fish are just salmon that died off after their breeding process, which happens naturally i believe. there is alot of magnesium in the drinking water im not sure if thats from the lake or not.

avoid dirty lakes?

Dread Maintenance

Hey so I just started dreading a couple months ago and spring is just around the corner :-) I live in osoyoos BC, which has the warmest lake in Canada but unfortunately it is also one of the dirtiest. Would it be wise to just not go swimming in this particular lake? I mean ive seen some dreadies swimming in it before but I've also seen schools of dead fish floating around.

Changing methods lol

Dreading Methods

Throw a wool sweater over your pillow and sleep on it. I have really straight fine hair that i thought was going to take ages to lock up, but now I have a head full of dreads andits been about 2 months
