A guy tells me from time to time "Hey man, haven't you started growing dreads? Go get 'em done at a salon, wax and stuff."
I just tell him that wax is really bad and I don't have 300$ to spend on something that happens naturally and for free.

I'd say leave it down. When you sleep, you roll over, you move and stuff. It makes knots, that why your hair looks crazy when you get out of bed. But when it starts locking, you'll see no difference between night and day. By the way, what method are you using?

I think it's a rip off that a bottle of shampoo is like 12$ and a kilo of baking soda costs 2.50$. A bottle lasts me about a month, that box of bs is probably gonna last me more than 3 months. Growing dreads is not only healthier, it's saving you money!

Second picture is as close as a lock I'm getting in the front. Back side is terrible, you wouldn't believe the knots I feel when I wash. I'd take pictures but I'm having trouble shooting the back of my head.
