Blowdrying dreads

Dread Maintenance

I have found that blowdrying until at least mostly dry is sort of necessary. Even after squeezing around with a towel my hair is super curly and would stay wet for hours, even before i had dreads. I'm always super paranoid about moisture rentention so i do it to calm my worries. Haha

loops lumps kinks and zig zags in dreadlocks

Dread Maintenance

I'm at work on my phone, but these are are two of my favorite locs that are supremely crazy... as opposed to thoroughly crazy like the rest of them. :) i couldn't imagine them any other way besides exactly how they want to be.

phatties or skinny dreads?

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

no, they don't really have any smell. i don't believe so at least. if there was dandruff stuck inside of my dreads (i have super fair and sensitive skin) the bs/acv rinse should take that out, right? and i do the whole flip to the left, pat/squeeze chunks dry, then do that for right front and back also. then retowl squeeze/pat general sections then blowdry until i can whip my hair around and not really feel splashes/drops of water, if so only a little bit. then i just let them dry on their own. as far as you would think, does there seem to be any flaws in that routine? thanks a lot for the help =]

since my hair was so curly before i set it free, a lot of mine still have curls inside of/through them and have many flat/curvy dreads throughout i don't really worry about loose growth or messing with them. i blowdry and towel squeeze the shit out of mine. also! i just did the baking soda acv tea tree oil rinse for the first time 3 days ago. tomorrow i'm doing it again to set the pace. i absolutely looooveee it. i'm just really paranoid about what goes on inside of my thicker congo type guys happening. hahaha.

the biggest is about 1 1/2 inches wide. The thinnest is still about as thick as a sharpie marker. And it doesn't take too long to dry. I squeeze the hell out of them after I wash. But it can still take 6 or so hours to dry completely. I started using a blow dryer for a little just to get the process started faster

how thick would you say they are? and does that cause any trouble with moisture retention? because i have really coarse hair and am positive i'm going to end up with some formidable congos... lol

I LOVE phatties. I started with 23 not too thin locks, but I ended up combining them into 12 supper fat ones. I always wanted really thick locks. So now I've got about 12 fat ones that break up into 23 or so thin ones at the ends. None of my locks has less than 3 branches

i'm only about 4 or 5 months in and my mane has definitely done a pretty diverse split between every way i could possibly describe a loc. hahaha. some flat some round, many phat as fuck an a bunch of tiny/medium/all sizes. some are really super curly and some are almost perfectly straight and the majority have like, visible curls formed into the dreads. i'm just rrreeeaaallly satisfied with them in general. hahaha

Seriously, ouch!

General Talk

i have extremely curly natural hair, and since having began the natural dread path around 4 months ago i have been caught off guard and got snuck up on by some congos that are definitely there to stay already.i half way want to ocd separate them, but i feel like if it's what they wanna do, who am i to stop them. lol

Dread shedding

Dread Maintenance

idk if i'm just paranoid but i'm 20 and fairly positive my hairline is creeping back like, what seems noticeably to me. is that going to do anything miserable to my dreads?
