Oddly progressing locks.

General Questions

I also use Dr bronners on occasion so I don't think my roots are tight due to not messing with them cause I clean my scalp well when I use bronners but I use it only once or twice a month because I have hard water and notice slight build up if I use it a few times in a row.

General Questions

My hair became brittle feeling due to not using the acv rinse. And my hair has already became softer but the roots still feel the same other than being healthier feeling. But they're as tight as they've always been.

General Questions

To Baba. Yes I use the BS wash but I stopped the acv rinse for a long time. Only used it my last 2 washes due to my hair starting to become a little brittle feeling. And to SE they aren't fat at all. Average of about a regular sharpie marker in thickness. Some a little thinner.

Oddly progressing locks.

General Questions

I separated for the first 5 months obsessively. Multiple times a day. I decided all that separating wasnt really necessary cause I wasn't getting a whole lot of growth. So I slowed that down. Only separated like once a month over the past 2 months. But no. They're not growing together any more than normal. They try to connect more toward the middle of the dread than at the roots.

General Questions

Just a simple question about hair growth. I know that everyone's hair grows differently and I'm not looking to alter my hair in any way. Just looking for some input. My average hair length is around 7 inches. My roots seem to dread up very quickly, but I have very loose tips. Average dreads have 1/4 inch or less loose hair at the root and then about 3 1/2 inch of solid dreaded hair and then 3 or more inches or loose hair to the tip. Should I expect the tips to tighten up a little more over time? And the roots tightening so quickly sometimes add tension that doesn't feel too good but I can deal with that. Crazy that some people are just wanting their roots to tighten and mine are too tight, Haha. Well thanks guys. All input is much appreciated.

General Talk

I watch it from time to time. Tend to watch Ultimate Fighter more than the actual UFC. Been watching on and off since season 1. Overall favorite fighter is Chris Leben. May not be the best but always puts on a good show.

hello to all :)

Introduce Yourself

Good luck. You're most likely to have times when you aren't quite sure if this is something you want to go through with. If you know now that its something you truly want then always try to remember this moment in those tough times.

My Dready Timeline.

Member Journals and Timelines

These photos are current at 9 1/2 Months.

I've officially become one with my dreads. A couple weeks ago I noticed that I'd completely stopped thinking of my locs as a process and really stopped thinking about them entirely. I no longer look at myself as a guy with dreads but as just me. Which I'd think would be an important thing for anyone to realize throughout their locking journey.

Thanks everyone. I'm really loving the journey. I've finally learned to just let go and let them do what they want.To any new comers my advice is that's the best thing you could do.
