your still in the early stages so try to keep your hands away from your locks.... IM having a hard time with not touching my hair but i play with it less and less everyday which is good... new dreads are fragile like new born babies so just let them rest and continue to wash and do your spray..... it has not been 2 weeks yet so its very hard and unlikely that you would see much progress if any at all
I have a few baby dreads that i want to apply beads to but is there a length that i should get two before adding beads? is there a certain kind of bead i should use?
natural locks usually looks more untamed like dreadlocks. twist look more manicured sometimes with defined patternsseparatingthe hair.
lol thats funny and all but disregard what they say after all you ARE embarking on the dread journey for you and not any of them. they will run out of things to say sooner or later after they find that your dreadies are here to stay....
i have the same hair type and always have had issues with starting my locks with twist. this time around i was excited to see that my twist were actually staying. i believe it is becuase i started twisting my hair much shorter than previous times.... So try finger twisting your hair just to test it out or even comb coil and see how it stays if they come out completely then give your hair more time... my hair is currently finger twisted and though all of them will not stay twisted most of them are... if i continue to have problems with the hairs that wont twist im going to tear and rip that area. good luck
just ignore it... dont let their ignorance get you down in any way.... Dreadlocks are something that have been around throughout history it is by far the oldest hairstyle there is.... having dreadlocks is a culture in its self all us dreadies are a family we all share the love we eachother and the world and also share the criticism from the simple minded people that feel as if dreadlocks is something new.... I blame it on hip hop, after lil wayne dreadlocked his hair all of atl did.... the explosion of dreadlocks in the south is what led me to cut mine as a child i no longer felt unique. next time just laugh with her cuz deep down we know that the joke is on her. Keep your head up and stay knotty haha. And i am anAfricanamerican but i do not bind myself into the racecategoriesim simply earthly as we all are. i know nothing about the african culture so i believe that i cannot properly label myself that...... i dont see race i only see what lies on the inside
