my son is 15 months...id love to let his hair dread.....aside from me and the wife everyone else in the family would not be happy...but would tolerate it.
i bet a few parents w/ really young kids w/ dreads have to deal w/ calls to CPS regarding the care of their kids. ppl prolly think that more than just their hair is neglected.....which i'm sure is rarely the case.
just get one of these hairband things....i don't know the real name for them, but i use them alot when i'm chillin' and don't want my hair in my face. .....and u really can't tell that there is even one in your hair

Dreading Methods
...so would sister locks or interlocking be an ok way for someone w/ short straight hair to start dreads provided that once they started growing out you don't re-tighten them by interlocking??? (mainly as a method to section them initially)
i had considered doing that before but didn't, and also might consider it after i have to cut my dreads in the next cpl months...looks alot better than braids

i have a cpl reasons for asking this, and i know that this is prolly the last place that wants to hear about "realistic dreadlock wigs"
when i search online all i can find is "costume junk"....and those stupid hats w/ like 5 silk braids attached keep coming up....what a bunch of crap and what a dis to ppl w/ real dreads.
i'm trying to find a wig that looks completely real for caucasion dreads....maybe something that hollywood might use that would seriously look authentic.
has anyone seen such a thing??? where would you look???
i have seen a couple that look just so-so...but are not for caucasion ppl, and they look like they just came out of the salon....not like "real dreads"
i know there are some crafty ppl here...what about making one from a regular wig???
any ideas???
