General Question

Hello.

I am very curious about how hair growing from the scalp knots up.  I've tried googling but I'm only finding methods as opposed to the actual movements or process.  I understand that free flowing hair will knot but I'm curious how the roots growing straight out turn to knots with only so much pull.  Thanks.

General Questions

Gotcha I think my hair is different than most maybe because of the thickness and length, idk. I mess with my hair a lot, been putting it in a ponytail often because of swimming and summer, separate daily and most days more than once. Think I'm about 4 months into neglect and there is a lot of progress. 1 thing I've noticed is my bangs are about shoulder length and don't have a single knot.

Small Dandruff Balls?

Hi.  I've always washed my hair daily.  The last few weeks I've tried skipping a day here and there but whenever I do I'm finding these very tiny balls on my scalp and now I'm remembering why I love to wash my head daily!  They are the size of a grain of salt.  I have no issues along with them, no itching, no visible dandruff, just these weird balls lol.  I checked Google and apparently it's a common issue but I couldn't really find any answers as to what it is or how to prevent them.  Anyone here know what I'm talking about?  Please help.

Hi

Introduce Yourself

My hair sectioned on its own the 2nd day, always did. Got dollylocks and it didn't seem to make any difference but it has been locking in the back of my head and around my ears. I figured that was normal progression for my hair but now after trying the bucks soap and that unknotting the hair around my ears, maybe dollylocks was helping it lock and I just wouldn't know the difference. I'm gonna keep woth dollylocks for now and give updates. I attached what the chunks in the back of my head arw turning into. That hair was always straight which is weird. The rest of my head is real wavey and not knotting, just hanging together. So these photos are about a month and a week in, just shampoo and separating.

Hi

Introduce Yourself

Hey just wanted to update ya. The bucks co shampoo makes my hair soft and some knots I had around the top of my ear/ temple area actually came almost fully out. I'm going back to the dollylocks stuff I was using. Shame though, I loved the smell and service. Maybe after they area more formed I can go back to the bucks shampoo. Another thing though, the biggest knot in the back of my head that was grabbing all of my hair actually dreaded above the knot and is much less of an annoyance. Not sure if the bucks shampoo is responsible or if that would have happened either way.

Hi

Introduce Yourself

Will do. I managed to get photos of the back where I've been separating. The biggest glob has been knotting up with everything behind my neck and ears. Think I should just leave it or keep separating?
