Dread Maintenance

Should the locking gel be used on wet or dry hair? How often should it be used?  Also I have ordered the lock it up shampoo and plan to use that several times a week.  Since the baking soda soak is no longer recommended-Is there something else I should soak them in once a month? If so what? Thank you for any advice.

Hello! Thank you all for the advice and sharing.  I have been reading the forums for several months now and just started my knots which will eventually turn into dreads about 3 weeks ago! I am very excited to begin this journey and I appreciate having experinced people to learn from.
