Bruiser's Dreadlock Timeline

Member Journals and Timelines

Your dreads are looking great. I wish I started out with your lovely locs. But alas I have stick straight, course, thick, Mexican/American Indian hair. But they are 9 months now and finally starting to look good. If you do like Tea Tree the www.dreadlockshampoo.com has a Tea Tree shampoo. I use it about every other time wash. Tea Tree is great for itchy scalps and to keep lice at bay.

Where online can I find a dreadlock wig for a caucasian?

Dread Accessories

Yes if the wig is made with real hair you can wash it. I actually started out with synthetic dreads; that I made myself. I wore those for about 3 weeks. It was a great start to my natural dreads. I will upload a pic of the ones I put in my daughter's hair. My dreads now are totally natural and have grown and really started to knot up. I am sure a lot thanks to my taking prenatal vitamins. My baby boy is now 2 months old. Hopefully soon I will upload some new pics of my dreads.

braid/dreads

Dread Maintenance

I would like some input. My husband wants to grow dreads like me. But it bugs him to not have neat hair. I was wondering if it would be okay to braid his hair (not super tight at roots) and just let them dread on their own. Would this be okay? Or should he just get over it and just let it go?

Essential Oils & Pregnancy

Dread Products

This is very interesting subject to me just because I am 32 weeks pregnant. I have found some info on this that I would like to share. It is from babycenter a site that my Obgyn suggested for info and keeping up with baby's progress. http://www.babycentre.co.uk/x536449/is-it-safe-to-use-essential-oils-while-im-pregnant

I hope this helps others.

letter to employers concerning dreadlocks

dreads jobs employment issues

Yeah that's why I am glad I work myself. I can have whatever hair I want. I do Tarot/Oracle readings and run a renaissance style store at festivals. I am also working on becoming a street performer. Soon my husband will quit his job and join me and start to grow his dreads.

That is awesome. I wish it work at my husband's job. But since he works in a sterile, manufacturing plant he can't have them. Or even have long hair. Even girls have to keep their hair short, no longer than their shoulders and it must be braided up. Because long hair can get caught in the machines and pull off someone's scalp. But thank goodness he is going to quit come Fall so we can hit the road full time. He will start his dreads then.

Dreadlocks at school??

Life Issues Facing Dreads

Well, she is still going to get back her dreads just in more neat way. Like I said I am going to make her some synthetic kanekalon dreads and then they will be less unruly and by the time she is out of school they will have helped the natural process speed up.

Dreadlocks at school??

Life Issues Facing Dreads

My 5 year old was growing dreads and they insisted she comb them out. Some mean kid had thrown sand in hair. I got most of it out. But I knew the rest would take time. But they kept saying that her hair was to unruly and something needed to be done. They even were going to have her play salon with some other girls brush and do each others hair. To avoid conflict we combed out what we could and cut what we couldn't. She now has an a-symetrical pixie cut. The back is buzzed kinda on the longer side. When the back grows out some more I am going to make synthetic kanekalon dreads and put them in. She can have those till she finishes school in May. After that I will take them out and let it dread naturally. She will not be going back to school in the fall. We plan to travel full time and she will began homeschool.

new dread locking gel from dreadlockshampoo.com

Dread Products

I have been using this for a bout a week. And finally the back, underneath of my hair is starting to dread. I think it wasn't dreading because I am pregnant and pregnant woman are told to do their best to sleep on their sides. So I have pillows that help me out. So my dreads weren't getting the friction from laying on my pillow. I like this product. Sorry I don't have photos. But hopefully soon.
