How did you start your dreads? All in, did some tester dreads, did one dread first, etc?

Dreading Methods

I find it funny when some people only have one dread. I've met several people who do one dread, keep it for aa year or so, then dread their whole head. While others will do one dread and only one, and just cut it out the following year or two.

I went all in when I did my dreads. I twisted my hair in the mirror to get some idea of what it might look like and decided it was happening.

How did, or didn't, you ease your self into dreads?

How do you decorate your dreads? Beads, cords, etc?

Dread Accessories

No, I didn't dread it into my hair.

When I made the wool dread I left a loop at the top of the dread, so it almost looked like a needle. and then I threaded my hair through it, twisted the wool loop, then threaded my hair through once or twice more.

Silver wrapping? Like wrapping paper almost? COOL! And living animals? xD what on earth!? makes sense that they would want to live in there though. Thanks amazing. haha.

I'm looking for some sort of cord to wrap around my dreads. Anything you guys would recommend? Or would just about anything work?

Dread Accessories

Currently I've got a few beads I made in my dreads , and I'm also very proud of the two actual dreads I made. I learned to felt not too long ago, so I got some colored wool and made my self a couple of felted dreads . I made sure I left a hole in the top of it so I could wrap it around an existing dreads.

If you wrap your dreads, like with cord, thread, yarn, etc, what do you use?

I had some fabric scraps wrapped around mine for a while, and they started to dread into my hair. Which was fine but boy did they smell, so I removed them.

How do I reverse my blunted dreads?

Dreading Methods

They did look pretty ridiculous blunted. I was hoping that was going to make them look a little neater. You can't tell too much from the first two images, but the back of my head was SUPER frizzy and looked much longer in the back, with a bunch of wispy hairs. It was looking like a dread mullet (Which is getting really popular in Europe by the way, and it's... strange, to say the least).

What I should have done was just dealt with the loose bits of hair, not blunted them.

Well now I know, haha.

They're looking better now!

I didn't even think of that! I thought I was a lost cause, I feel so stupid. I just tried it on a couple and it worked great. Thank you so much!

How do I reverse my blunted dreads?

Dreading Methods

The first two images are what they use to look like. I didn't like the super frizz i had in the back which is why I blunted them. But they're just way too neat now and i don't like it.

How do I reverse my blunted dreads?

Dreading Methods

I blunted the tips of my dreads yesterday and I hate it.hate hate hate. Unfortunately I dreaded my whole head before I checked it out. :[ I'm so disappointed, and I'm hoping there's someway I can undo this. I want my pointed dreads back.
