3 1/ months - Loose, fuzzy hairs normal?

General Questions

Thank you, I do feel better now knowing that it is apart of the process.
I hate having to tie them up all of the time, but my boss is very strict and everyone has their hair up in ponytails/buns (I work in food). If I wear them in a ponytail, would that be a little better?

I could try to not use the bobby pins, but I am worried that my other job (which is in retail) will think it's too sloppy. They told me that I need to keep them VERY neat.
I have tried tying them up with themselves, but they're not strong or long enough yet; they have shrunk a lot.
I understand that this will slow down things, but will this be significant damage? Now thinking about it, I'm definitely going to lay off the bobby pins!

3 1/ months - Loose, fuzzy hairs normal?

General Questions

Hey guys and gals!

As I have said in previous posts, I have to keep my hair in a tight bun with all sorts of bobby pins for 18 hours per week. I just got a second job so that's even more hours in this bun, along with when I practice yoga. I have noticed that my baby dreads are beginning to look more loose, almost starting to look like "normal" hair again! They are also becoming very fuzzy. I began the dreading process 3 and a half months ago.

I don't mind at all if this is apart of the process, but I was worried if this isn't part of the process and that I'm damaging them?

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

Thank you Moon Raven, that is a wonderful idea!
Luckily, I think the more conservative job forgot about me, but I now work at a more free kind of place. Bandannas are apart of our uniform! :D I still have the urge to use a clip to pin the hair up a bit though; they're really big about cleanliness and I don't want them to think I'm dirty. It's sad how many people think my hair is unhygenic when I wash it every 3-4 days :p Oh well!

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

Thanks so much everyone! I am on my 4th month of baby dreads, and so they are looking crazy right now. Too crazy for a ponytail or braids :( I could try to stop using the bobby pins though! The worst part is that this bun gives me a massive headache, but I'll keep trying new things (: Thank you for your responses<3

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

Wow, I haven't even thought of that! My Dad keep telling me to not talk to them about the dreads at all, since they don't know and just hired me. Maybe I'll talk to them in a month so we already have a relationship :) Thank you for your tremendous help! For now I'll wear my hair down outside of the job, and separate after I take it out of the bun.

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

For yoga I could try wearing a bandanna instead :)
For the job, I have a feeling it has to be in a tight bun; my supervisors seem a bit conservative, but who knows! I am in the VERY loopy/zig-zag stage, every single one is shrinking and zig zagging.
I also may be getting a second job...so even more time in a bun. However, the employees at the second job have gauges, some wear bandannas, and some have really long hair so I may have more freedom with them.

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

Thank you very much!
Do you think that separating once per day would be okay, or would more be needed?

Tight Bun Needed for Job

General Questions

Hello (:

I know I ask a million questions, but I don't know where I'd be without all of your generous answers; thank you!!

This question is similar to another I had, although the situation is different.

I just got a job at a clothing store, my very first job, and they have no idea that my hair is going through the dreading process (going on my fourth month). I will be keeping my baby dreads in a tight bun everyday for work, with a stretchy headband and many bobby pins. In the morning for yoga, it will also be in a bun with a headband but no bobby pins. In general around the house, I use a clip to pull back some hair and bangs.

I'm guessing that this will slow down progress, but my question is will this severely damage my dreads?

Separating Questions

General Questions

Thanks a ton, that was a huge help! :)
It is so fun seeing them loop and zig zag! They don't look anything like hair or dreads, just creatures haha
I think I am going to leave the beads in, and hopefully buy some larger ones :)
