Gray Hairs

Introduce Yourself

Awh your cats sound beautiful (: would ot be a problem if it is my hair shedding? If its just apart of the process then I'm fine with that :) I wash my hair with my friend's handmade soap. All natural products and she also washes her dreads with her soap.

Gray Hairs

Introduce Yourself

Haha! Does your cat have gray hair? Mine has red fur and hides in the basement all day so it might not be my cat :p

Gray Hairs

Introduce Yourself

I didn't even think of that! (: I do have pets so that could be a possibility! I just want to make sure I'm not damaging the hair somehow. Thank you for your help!

Gray Hairs

Introduce Yourself

Hello :)

About a month ago I noticed a few wiry gray hairs in one of my baby dreads. I picked them out, which caused the baby dread to unravel a bit, and didn't worry about it. Well now I have been noticing more gray hairs in a few baby dreads. They're not noticeable by anyone but me, and are very short. It's not lint; definitely gray hairs. I am only 18, and the dreads with gray hairs were twist and ripped. I use do not use wax or any product, and the only maintenance is separating and washing. Could this simply be the old hair shedding?

Bald Spots?

General Questions

Hi! :)

I've never seen the bottom layer of my baby dreads yet, and they feel like they are forming the quickest so I asked my sister to take a picture of them for me. When I lifted the top layer up in the picture, I saw those big bald spots. I was wondering if this is normal? When all of my hair is down there are no bald spots :) My hair part also looks a bit wider, but not majorly. I hope this is all due to the sectioning and that I don't end up with a bunch of bald spots. Thank you! I am posting the picture below because I feel that it shows the baby dreads better :)

Hello!
I haven't added any pictures of my baby dreads, so I thought I would now :)
I backcombed a few of the top layers, but most were twist and ripped or neglect. I don't use any product or maintenance besides separating and washing. I still have a lot of loose hair, and no one can tell that I even have baby dreads; they look like "normal" hair for the most part. Although the ones on the bottom layers are beginning to form and shrink like crazy. I have some that shrunk above my chin. I'm surprised that many of them are beginning to blunt on their own.
I'm really happy because I hardly have to separate now :)

Here are some pictures of my hair before:

And here are some pictures of my baby dreads at about 4 months:

Thank you for reading! :)
