white people all lie about having natural dreads (acording to 1 youtube moron)

General Talk

Yep,get this shit sometimes from (jealouse cant grow no hair cause it takes soooo long) peopleand then feel great when i get the comment attached"your dreads look rough, you should go to a stylist or something" Ya buddy, my dreads look like "shit" cause thats natural dreads with NO saloon, NO wax, NO needle, NO braided- weave- extension- wig wearin-or whatever, JUST my hair and what my NATURAL hair chooses to do with itself. Yep, natural looks like some goooood shitty mess to me!

Human hair aint supposed to smell like anything in particular- just hair. People in our society put all kinds of shit on their heads to smell like flowers and fruits and bubble gummie candle drip la la juice and such. Baking soda and a soft acv rince will leave your hair smelling clean and feeling clean and actually truly being clean. Nothing has ever seemed better for my hair. Many whotend to tell dreaded folks that their hair stinks are just under the assumtion that dreads are dirty and smelly because we live in society that believes idiotic stereotypes. Just make surethey are clean and not moldy and it dont matter what folks say.

Two years, and what I've learned.

General Talk

Ya hit it dead on friend- Ive gone from being worried about what people thought when they seen me to just not giving a sh*t. I know where i came from and where im at and everything ive been through is reflected in my dreads. the good the bad the ugly. the mistakes and the triumphs. my dreads are about two years now and im not the same person at all i was. my dreadsgave me positive reenforcement to overcome struggles tochange that, but they alsohold the memories of the changes of a work in progress. ive given up tobacco-ive given up booze- and every time im tempted to go back to the destructive, unatural, superficial, typicallife i was living and literly killing my self with- i am reminded by my dreads of what true natural change really is. I owe a hell of a lot to them. Dreadlocks really are powerful and positive.

Loose hair all over the roots (Frizzy)

Help! Save My Dreads

1- it dont look stupid at all! 2-dont worry-i have frizzy loose hair too and i made the mistake a year and a half ago of letting it bother me and then stickin my dumb little fingers all over it. LET IT BE- that hair is going to grow and get sucked in to other dreads or eventually dread a little itself. I wish i had left all my fuzzy wuzzy dumb lookin hairs alone- i would have some cool little babies inbetween my big boys by now. but hey- its life and learnin the dreaded way- now i love loose hairs and frizz- it is part of my head and has a purpose- peace-yo dreads look good friend!

mom bugging me about my dreads

Introduce Yourself

ha ha my mother still bugs me to get a haircut and im in my thirties. She lives in a florida retirement community and thinks my barefoot tie died dreadhead scares her neighbors. ha ha gonna go down there soon with my drums and me and the filthy little tree worshipin grandkids gonna have a drum circle right outside the parks gates. Mothers sometimes are just stuck in their ways, my mother has commented on my "homeless" look for like twenty years now but she is still my mother and i just give the shit back and we can both smile for a moment. Good luck, do what YOU feel is right. hair never killed no one or anything, right?

Contest/Challenge Time

General Talk

my dreads hold memories like a scrap book. they were tug toys for my girls when they were infants-they remind me of good relationships ive had in recent years- they have been soaked in the ocean and frozen likeicecicles(dont know how that is spelled) in the mountains. Most of all they remind methat ijust dont need to care so much about the lil things and just LET GO
