bronner's bar soap?

General Questions

so i've been using the nag champa (liquid) lockin up shampoo and it works great because of the sea salt in it. i stopped shampooing w/ the liquid dr. bronner's soap because it didn't have any sea salt. i noticed that the bronner's bar soap does contain sea salt, and i was wondering if anyone uses that. and if you do, does it feel like it makes a difference in tightness of your dreads? and does the bar soap have to be diluted, like the liquid?

zig zags, loops, and clumps

General Questions

thanks guys. i do love my crazy dreads but i find that the clumpy ones stick out a lot amongst some of the not-so-mature dreads at the bottom of my scalp so i find myselftryingto blend thereally clumpy ones into the rest of my hair by tucking them under the others. its becoming annoying but i guess ill have to be more patient and wait it out.

zig zags, loops, and clumps

General Questions

so i've had dreads about 7 months now and they are very condensed and shrunken because of all the zig zags that formed. i love my loops, dont get me wrong, but i'm so ready for them to unshrink and become straight. does fine straight hair take longer? should i expect them to be like this another year? i'm getting a little impatient and i need some reassurance! D:

I've attached some pics as a visual aid

dr. bronners is safe for dreads when diluted and the one u found has similar ingredients (oils), so maybe try diluting it some?

Make use of your wax to make a hemp wick! (hemp wick is good to use so that you only need one flick of a lighterduring a sesh.) That way, you won'tgo thru so many lighters orwaste fluid...plus butane isn'tgood for ya! Anyway, I just found out that these things exist, and I think it'sa great idea. I don't have any wax, so I haven't tried making one yet. If anyone used one of these before, or madeit before, please let me know how you like it..hmm, i wonder where they might sellpremade hemp wicks...Anyway,if you're interested, this is the videoIfound on how to do it

I hope someone finds this helpful :)

Brushing the teeth with soap

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

i began using toothsoap instead of toothpaste, because there are no harmful chemicals in it(like fluoride imo), and it works better than toothpaste. the toothsoap was homemade, so the ingredients were all natural and had no glycerine in it. i read that glycerine, which is in toothpaste and most bar soaps, coats the teeth and doesnt allow them to remineralize, and that's not good. anyway, a lot of these suggestions from everyone are really good ones. i've read that things like baking soda, peroxide, certain oils, and sea salt or even dr. bronners are good to use so there are many options to try instead of using commercial toothpaste. happy brushing :P
