Well its been six months since i decided to take the dreadlock journey. i was hoping to see more progress at this point but at least I'm seeing progress one thing I've learned during all this is patience and now its no big deal waiting for awesome dreads to do their thing. I'm gonna add a couple of pics to my profile cuz i can't figure out how to do it on this forum from my phone :p

Ok I just need some advice now so it's not a major problem later. My hair has made some awesome changes this past week my concern is a couple of strands that are starting to form and if they are maybe not thick enough. I like the look of the size but I don't want them to be too weak so could you all give me advise on this please. I provided a picture and I hope its ok and you can see what I'm seeing. As far as an estimated measurement, I would say the smallest one in the pic is the same size as a number 2 pencil??? Will these be ok or do i need to do something to make em thicker?

Dreading Methods

i recommend that you cancel the appointment you have booked. I wouldn't pay for something that you can get naturally. I had to pay 50 dollars when I went because I didnt find this awesome site before i went. They basically did everything you shouldn't do including using wax and telling me to retwist constantly and palm roll which are all bad for your hair. You cannot go to a saloon and get dreads the same day. The only thing they will do is make it LOOK like you have dreads and to do that they will have to use methods that damage your hair and prevent you from having "REAL" locks. Just read everything in the dreaducation section and ask questions if you have any and u can get dreadlocks for free

i'm four weeks in my journey and mine don't look near as good as yours and my ends are a lot longer. They look good

I think bubba recommended that u didn't for now since your hair is naturally oily but once the bs mix starts working you will need to yes to balance it back out

LOL i have no idea but i doubt it cuz its ok to wear tams and i've heard from others on here who wear hats so i don't think that should be a problem but i honestly don't know the answer to that one

i let mine air dry but I read on here that some wrapped a towel around their hair. I recommend using a towel that is really close to the color of your hair though cuz it will attract the lint off the towel.
