One year old TnR/ combed dreads.

General Talk

I figured thy will. They are still pretty young. They certainly have bunched up a lot to create loops and lumps-- which I like. The more unique the better.

One year old TnR/ combed dreads.

General Talk

Hey all I just wanted to share a picture of my dreads and maybe get some feedback and responses. I know they look wild, but other than forming them I haven't done anything with them. I do wish I had gone with the natural method, but I figure if I just give them some TLC and take good care of the new growth and roots, everything will okay . The only weird thing I have noticed is not really a lot of shrinkage. Originally I had waist length naturally blonde hair, medium thickness.

Moisture help?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Hey eveyone I hope you are enjoying your week and some warmer weather. I have a small problem, my dreads and my scalp are feeling too dry. I've been using jojoba oil, and it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I also need a good shampoo method, as I have grown out of ACV/BS washes. Any help would be nice.

How can I tell if my dreads are healthy?

Introduce Yourself

Thanks guys! I'll check out jojoba oil instead and a different method of washing. Some my roots are. Little dry and need some love. I guess I don't really have any breakage since I don't find. Lot of my hair around the house. I think my concern comes from when I had a friend who's boyfriend had locks and she told me once that his would just fall off of his head completely lol. He must have just been doing something totall wrong.

How can I tell if my dreads are healthy?

Introduce Yourself

Hey y'all. I've had my dreads for a year now, and they are looking good. They have tightened and thickened and curled and waved. But I have this underlying fear that they just aren't where they should be. I used a back comb/ TNR method which I kind of regret--wish I would have gone natural. I use baking soda sea salt and apple cider vinegar to wash.. Tea tree oil to moisten other than that I don't bother them. But how can I tell if they Are healthy? What can I do to improve them?

Thin root, thicker dread. should I worry?

Help! Save My Dreads

My dreads are about 3 months, and I noticed one of my denser, thicker dreads has a thin root. I can't figure out why, because I don't do anything to them but separate. Should I worry about it? is it going to fall out or something? Or will the root thicken up?

Is it possible to seperate too much? Damaging?

Dread Maintenance

I have had my locks for about 3 months now. They are twist n rip/ backcombing method. I don't do anything to them except wash and separate. But is it possible to rip and separate too much? Will that damage my roots or dreads? I separate every few days.
