way to nature

Saved Dreads Success Stories

hi to all = )))) the idea of getting dreads came to me through Bob Marley, reggae music and rasta-culture. But I was too silly at my 16, so I believed all those people saying "hey, your straight hair will nevar make themselves into dreads!" so I backcombed. Veeeery "natural" way! It was painful, and my scalp was suffering bad - from dandruff, that was getting inside the dreads after every "fix" with the crotchet. eeewww. 2 years after, a month ago, I found this site, after watching SoaringEagle's videos on utube - I thought "maaan, these dreads are amazing, and all u have to do is do NOTHING" = )))) So i spent 3 days un-dreading my dreads, having half of my hair out (because when u fix them u tear LOTS of hair out or apart). I always had straight hair, but in a week they started to curl like mad = ))) And I already have one little buddy! = ))) Here's a photo of him = )))) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/143/img4523o.jpg/ I'm so happy I'm on a truly natural way know=)) Thank u all ppl! =)))

the white paste ids from the dryy skin exfoliation

if u dont get that its not a problem at all lol

u shouldnt if your scalps pretty healthy

well, it's "exfoliating" too much)) I mean - when I shake my head it's "snowing"! I don't think it's so normal)))

Oh man that sux about the oils. I would think just a good residue free shampoo would be fine. The powdered soap I'm sure tears your scalp up...ouch. Baby shampoo would be fine too.

under "white paste" I mean not the mixture itself - some ppl say that when u pour it out on your head, it bonds with fat and creates soap. smth like that =))) the oils are not very easy to find where I live, and they are expensive - so I'd like some more simple ways to wash my head)))) I made the burdock oil myself, it grows everywhere in here = )))

U may have misunderstood me about the soap - it's not powdered, it looks like this http://kazprom-image.s3.amazonaws.com/69772_w640_h640_126.jpgwhat should I avoid in shampoos? I mean - anything that would make dreading longer?

Dread Maintenance

hello guys! = ))) I've tried washing my hair with BS, but it seems I'm doing smth wrong - I don't see or feel any "white paste" when I pour out soda with water on my head and let it soak. I use something like 1 teaspoon for a cup of water. Also I like to wash my head with domestic detergent soap - it's vegetable and I like my hair after the wash, and they knot pretty good. BUT - it dries the scalp pretty much, which causes dandruff TT Then I use burdock oil - and again, there's a trouble. The oil is oily! = ))) So I have to wash it with soap reeeeally good to make my hair normal. My head was normal (no dandruff) for a week after that oil, even with the fact that I washed it off with the soap.
