Almost five weeks!

Dreadlock Picture Gallery

I'm ecstatic! I'll have had my dreads for five weeks on Feb. 1st.
It's only half my head and I'm dying to get the rest in(:
The first nine, my friend did for me. She TnR'd and backcombed a little.
The next six, I did myself, and I didn't backcomb. They look twisted, much less fuzzy, and they're way longer! Though I like the one my friend did better, the look better to me, they don't look like braids. Mine kind of do.

Half a head of dreads!

These are the ones my friend did, also the oldest. The rest will be four weeks

The oldest

They're a little bit lopsided. Not sure if that's my fault, or if my hair was differentlengths.

Mine are definitely longer, but see how they look braided?

What's it doing though? Just moving around?

I think. I feel like there's too much hair at my root that isn't part of the dread. On most of them, the hair is almost the length of my whole index finger.

Is that normal? I know it's going to take a while, but my hair grows really fast, should I do anything to help it dread? Something that isn't crazilydestructive?

Homemade Locking Accelerator

Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone!(:
My dreads are going to be two weeks old tomorrow! Yay! I decided to make a spray out of sea salt, lemon juice and water.
My friend recommended it. I get the water and sea salt, but why the lemon juice?

My spray is 2 1/2 cups water, 1 1/2 tablespoons seat salt, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
Is that okay?
Thanks!!

Hey, what if I were to use baking soda in place of shampoo?

We're pretty sparse, that's for sure! I'm lucky enough to live close to a few horse stables
