I moisturize with my scalps natural oils, or water? I'm not one to follow hygienically elaborate practices so I simply wash my hair with the dreadlockshampoo bar and maybe do a follow up rinse with some diluted essential oils. Good ways to naturally moisturize your hair however seem to be plentiful. Drinking plenty of water will hydrate your hairs from the inside out. You can also spray water on them and then use oils to seal the moisture in. Honestly though, how moist my hair is never crosses my mind :P
I've used mango and lime shampoo before, but stopped once I found out there was sodium lauryl sulfate in it. I'd watch out with that mango and lime stuff, that company is not trustworthy and will put some bad stuff in their products.
Your moisturizer reportedly used to contain: Cactus blend extract, cactus blossom, cactus seed extract, cactus root extract, cactus flower oil, carrot oil, tea tree oil, shea butter, aloe, jojoba oil, essence of lime, essence of mango, methylparaben and fragrance.
Now, here's the ingredients from the new formula: Deionized water, mineral oil, gylcerin, glycol disterate, polyquaternium 37, propylene glycol, diazolydiniyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, fragrance.
Even in the original formula, they included methylparaben which is a preservative. Though it's relatively safe ,studies indicate that methylparaben applied on the skin may react with UV light, leading to increased skin aging and DNA damage. Just keep it natty yo!
Welcome. Eagle's right about twisting and corn crows. If you do it tightly, it puts too much torque on your scalp and roots. If done tightly or left in long, it will cause balding
welcome but u shouldnt twist at all and u should wash alot more often and if u corn row thats ol=k just dont doi it tight and dont leave it in long at all
forced tightening of the roots and too tight braiding or styling will cause u to go bald

bekieve it or not thats how most that go to salons believe it should look they call it tidy or fresh
its not untill it gets to this stage that they worry]
see like this
see all that scalp?
salons make u believe that only this is appropriar-te and if u have hair between dreads its dirty and nasty
they use shame tactics to take your money and destroy your hair and scalp
those dreads will get thinner and thinner the scalp wider and wider till dreads fall off and shes bald
your not doing bad at all i took a look
u can see the sk[]lightest hint it could go that way if you did alot of twuistinmg but yiour not in any danger yet
buyt google image search interlocked dreds or twisted dreads and u will see a ton of pics with tiny thin dreads surounded by a ton of glaring scalp
thats what salons call "tidy" but its a medical condition that wil get worse and worse and lead to baldness
Welcome and Happy Dreading.
Always, Hippie Love
Welcome Ehi U from Nigeria
lol. It kind of is. But it works here too.
I understand liking corn rows. I had my mohawk in corn rows for a while back in the day.
