Downside to dreads? Keeping it real!
I love the visual of kitty and the shells!
I live in a VERY liberal place and locs are common here across the racial/cultural rainbow...not to mention we have a college here that is know for diversity of thought and behavior....but there are still folks with narrow vision who judge broadly

Pros
My dreads seem to be a conversation starter, where ever I go. People are constantly telling me they look awesome, or how did you start them or why? Sometimes I feel like a alien walking into a western bar, and it feels like everyones eyes are on me.
They keep me warm in the winter, they are my pillow when I have no pillow.
Sometimes if forget my sunglass's, and im walking or driving, depending on if the sun is on the side of me I can let my dreads hang down and block it out.
They are like a timeline of the last 4-5 years i have lived
Cons
sometimes girls where I live think that dreads are gross- misconception
Baseball caps dont fit on my head.

that made me snort coffee out of my nose... I got the best mental pic of someone struggling with a coat velcroed to their head :D
One of them keeps getting stuck to my zip on my jacket. It's the same one, and I tuck it away but it defies the laws of physics and still ends up getting stuck to it, and then I kind of end up getting tangled in my own hair. Also, my hair is quite bushy and frizzy, and I'm not used to having it out, so it feels generall annoying when little whisps of hair just blow into my face. I was gonna mention my dandruff/eczema problems too, but that's not because of the dreadlocks, it's just that it's harder to clear up because of them
