i convinced my mom of letting me get locks in 2009 or 2008 with the condition that i be successful and happy, that i would keep them clean and all that as well. finally 2011 i decide its the right time and... success! my mom actually likes them and interested in how they evolve and the minimal upkeep for great looking locks.

mrmehndi@gmail.com. ask me anything!

I am a Mom (times three) with dreds. My children do not have dreds, but I would completely support them if they wanted to. I have added you as a friend so I can pm you my email address. I would love to participate and answer these questions.

Hello. :) I am 15 years old and had dreadlocks from the time that I was a baby until I was seven years old. About a year ago I began my second dreadlock journey. Both my parents have dreadlocks. They are divorced now, and my step mother has dreads and also my step father had dreads but cut them off a few years ago. I also have seven siblings ranging from the age of 18 months to 18 years old who all have dreadlocks or have had them in the past. I'm not sure who in the family would be willing to be a part of this interview but I definitely would!

Hi Zerah,

I just sent a friend request in order to email you. Thanks so much for responding. Can you please be sure it's okay with your parents since I may want to include your name in the article. Overall, I just want to know what it means to you as a child growing up in a familywho wearsdreadlocks, how you think that makes you different and if you felt pressure from your parents to wear locks or if it was your choice. Thanks
