Trimmed and layered my dreads- now my heart is a tad broken

my dreads go down to my butt and are gorgeous- but today i decided i'd trim some layers in, and take some of the weight off the top. they look awesome, and the bottom ones still go to my butt- anyone else however, find their hert breaks after a trim? my dreads are so heavy when wet, that I can;t hold my head up and have to fold them up and sit them on my shoulder- so they needed a trim- but still I feel awful about it- what do I do with the off cuts? join them together into a dread chain and keep into a memory box? lol. idk i feel so upset about it. would love to hear your thoughts and feelings on trimming xx

I personally wouldn't trim. You are right though, to each their own.
