separation when you have mature dreadlocks

Hi. I made my dreadlocks buy crochet because I had no idea that I could make them naturally. Now since I know that, I let them be natural for 6,5 months. They look and feel really natural. I aslo need to separate often and it sometimes hurt a lot. What I was wondering is if, when my dreadlocks are gonna be mature, I will need to separe less than presently? THx!

yes and seperate when damp it hurts less seperate often enough and shouldnt hurt at all

Yeah, mine aren't mature yet but already I can go a week or longer without them needing to be separated at all. Maybe do it a bit more frequently so that you separate them before they join enough for them to hurt?
