Hair Coverings at Work

Hola! I am just starting my baby dreads now. I haven't combed in a week and I have only ever used Dr. Bronner's shampoo on my hair for well over a year now. Already my hair is starting to get twisty and twirly, which is nice.

My problem is, I work in a medical clinic and want to keep my gnarly hair mess under wraps until it actually starts to look like something. A tam or hat would look kind ofridiculous, but those knitted hair tubes or some cute scarves and kerchiefs are perfectly acceptable. I have plans to get some of those knitted up ASAP.

I could also tie my hair back in a ponytail and just claim I'm having a bad hair day (for the next six months) but I worry that tying my hair back will impede the dreading process. Any experience with this?

I have an extra job where I have to cover my hair and I use a "tube" and really like it. It stays on the whole day and I can use it as a head band or cover all of my hair. This is what it looks like on me:

If you go to 2:45 in this video you'll see what it looks like.

I got it at dreadspullen.nl, same as the girl in the video.
