Howdy do y'all. I've been seriously thinking of getting a little knotty 
The length of my hair right now is over two feet. I was just wondering how much length i would lose after it's been dreaded. I'm hoping to make some neat dreads that are a bit thin. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!
I did the twist and rip method. Here is my hair at 11 months 4 days. My finger shows how long my hair was when I started. ...Peace
I also started with very long hair. I just stopped brushing and have been separating a lot to make quite thin dreads. Here is a photo showing my shrinkage after 8 weeks:

I am expecting it to shrink even more before it's fully dreaded! However, I don't feel that it is the hair that I have now that is important, that's just how my dreads will start. It is the hair that will grow in future and lock up at the roots that will make the "real" dreads.
