Washing question

Hi there..I have read a lot about washing on here. I am about 3 weeks into dread journey. So i have been doing the baking soda, ACV rinse every 3-4 days. The thing is the first couple of weeks, I felt the NEED to wash at 3 days..hair/scalp was greasy and itchy etc. Now i feel like it doesnt need washed. It feels dry and soft. do i want that slight greasiness? Has my scalp adjusted already? ALso, I started my dreads with back-combing, and panicked beacuse i looked a mess and went to a "loctician" who crocheted them a little. I have not crothched since but there are one or two that are so loose at roots...more than the 3 inches. Should i give these a little backcomb? I can not believe they are not somewhat tangling up on their own. Last question: I have a dreadhawk, and want to add another row of dreads where the short/ shved hair meets the dreads if that makes sense. SO the shaved part will be smaller...and more dreads. Should i grow this hair out to 4-5 inches and backcomb, or just let it go. How do you section the dreads if you dont backcomb? thanks so much!!

1 your fine on washing 2 absolutely do not backcomb them they are 3 weeks just 3 weeks

3 the fact that the roots are si=o loose is good concidering the loctician crochetted hthem it shows quick recovery but also that the loctician pretty much ripped ya off and didnt really do nothing they would have been crochetted to the scalp and no ghair grows 3 inches in 3 weeks

the loose hair will section itself and dread itself when long enough

lastly they neede4d to be messy..neatening them up in the 1st week ..well its negligent to not tell you they should be messy

Thanks so much. I was thinking that about the loctition too! I am glad she did not do a great job though lol. I will keep up the washing. I just received some dr bronners lavender and pepeprmint soap. so am excited to give it a whirl. I just feel like i am getting off so easy not being all itchy and greasy. I used to be a once a day hair washer.

Hi Kirsty, not sure if you know, but I have read that Dr. Bronners does not work properly with hard water. It may leave a type of residue.
