Root feels different

I think it is just build up from some dandruff I had for a couple weeks combined with the 42 degree weather making me sweat constantly. Some of the roots on my dreads feel like there is a slight gunk or build up from this..I just started washing with BS..I use about 250ml to 1 lter of water.I soak my head for about 15 minutes and then rinse it for about 10 minutes.

Does ACV help breakdown old dandruff?it isn't visible on the outside of the root sections, but I am sure it's inside...I fortunately don't have rot or anything.

Any suggestions are appreciated
