im tryn to get dreads, but because i gt my hair permed about a year ago everyone says i have to cut my hair. does any1 know a good methed i can use?? :*) (withOUT) cutting my hair

best method stop combing stop conditioning let the hair dread itself ..natural dreads are the best way

next best twist and rip

then backcomb backcomb barely makes it into the ok to use methods list tho its fairly damaging

anything like wax or crochet should be avoided at all costs

why would you have to cut? the permed hair should actually have nice raised cuticle that should help it dread nicely. start your residue free shampoo and see how it feels in a week or so, i'd think.

The only reason I'd cut it is if the perm aftermath made your hair look like fried hell. I couldn't handle that but if not don't cut it
